Bombuscaro — Hotel in Loja

We unexpectedly found ourselves needing to spend a night in Loja while traveling in Ecuador.||||We checked in to Hotel Bombuscaro because the hotel's appearance on their website looked attractive. Unfortunately, the poor condition of the rooms is not reflected in the website.||||The public area is attractive and clean, and the hotel staff is pleasant.||||HOWEVER, the rooms (we had two rooms between the four of us) are small, very worn and run down, and poorly furnished. Neither of the rooms had a window, nor is there any ventilation system present in the hotel. Both rooms were very musty and one (ours) smelled of sewage. We were too exhausted from our travels to search for another hotel - so we toughed it out.||||The breakfast buffet in the small lobby the next morning was poor quality. Everything you take from the buffet is written down by the attendant and charged to your room bill at checkout time.||||For the price of the room (Hotel Bombuscaro is supposed to be a "tourist class" hotel) I expect you can find something far far better.||||NOT RECOMMENDED!...
