Hotel Oro Verde Loja — Hotel in Loja

I've lived in Loja for the past two years and tried many hotels. This one is by far the best, so I stay frequently myself and recommend for visitors here too. High quality everything: great restaurant, some of the best salmon I've eaten in Ecuador, huge breakfast selection, super friendly professional staff with English speaking reception, nice clean rooms with good complimentary soaps, hot water, solid wifi, beautiful building interior, etc. Free parking in the garage I believe. Also the price is super reasonable compared to other nice hotels in different cities here. The only thing missing is a gym / pool / amenities or perhaps if you're looking for a view and need a lot of ventilation...try to request a room on the top 6th floor! Otherwise many of the lower rooms only have interior windows. That said, the interior is a big open space and I've never had an issue with stuffiness in any of their rooms...as I have in lower quality hotels elsewhere. I even prefer the more cave-like ambiance sometimes because there is better noise insulation for a peaceful night's sleep. Even though it's right in the middle of the city, the building is quiet. Our two rooms were not ready after check-in time. The reason management told us was a huge group just checked out and staff were cleaning the wrong rooms first. (Disgusting and ignorant management of guests reservations and direction of hotel staff) We were told it would be a thirty minute wait while the rooms were cleaned, it was a full forty-five minutes or more. The room had a very small window on fourth floor, hot water took ten minutes to come on, not all lights worked and a barking dog in neighborhooding room (405) echoed in the halls, with no correction from staff. I've stayed at several Oro Verde's over thirty years, I would caution anyone from staying at this run down version of the Oro Verde hotels. Oh I forgot to mention the lobby floor was dusty at edges and the white seats were peeling as if this hotel was a third rate hotel or worst. Debo ser muy honesto y escribir una crítica que aunque constructiva de todas maneras es una critica. Las habitaciones son muy bonitas y acogedoras, aunque podrían mejorar ña puerta del baño que primero mezcla el ambiente del baño con el de la habitación, entendamos que esto es fatal, aparte de esto es una puerta muy complicada para abrir, deben arreglar eso pues una molestia. Vamos al servicio de los meseros; no es un mal servicio como tal, no son groseros y procuran ser muy serviciales sin embargo deberían tener un mejor entrenamiento pues al preguntar que tipo de pescado es en el desayuno ña respuesta de uno de los meseros fue "pescado no se" luego regresó y nos dijo que era, por ese lado no está mal pero puede mejorar. Ahora vamos a lo realmente importante, las políticas del hotel y como las ejecutan o "no las ejecutan", no soy una persona clasista y espero no ser tomada como tal, sin embargo el problema a radico en que vino un grupo de algun club de fútbol, desde el inicio hasta el final de nuestra estadía se comportaron como personas sin ningún tipo de noción o respeto de donde se encuentran, gritos, risas a carcajadas (ser feliz esta bien pero gritar no), subían y bajaban las escaleras como si estuviesen en un mercado; llame una vez a recepción y no hicieron nada, no hablaron con el profesor a cargo del equipo, yo tuve que hablar con el y pararon los gritos pero el personal no hizo nada, como dije esto no para hasta la última noche de mi estadía. Pienso yo que sus políticas deben ser estrictas en este carácter y si las personas no cumplen con etiquetas básicas de convivencia deben ser expulsadas del hotel, dentro de las normas y contratos que firman deben tener cláusulas estrictas que ellos deben leer y de las cuales ser conscientes y si las rompen deben ser expulsados, pues perturban la paz de de todos los otros huéspedes, esto fue extremadamente insoportable. Quiero ponerles 5 estrellas porque es un lindo hotel, pequeño pero acogedor, pero no son firmes. Honestamente no volvería a hospedarme en este hotel y si alguien me preguntara por un hotel en Loja este no sería mi primera opción. En fin cambien, mejoren, evolucionar es bueno si lo hace con...
