I wanted to stay only for a couple of nights and ended up staying 1 week. Christian the owner is a really relaxed and welcoming guy that basically lets you spent your time in his backyard. Although the spaces are separated still a really familiar atmosphere comes up. Not only cause of him but also his dog which spent all the nights sleeping in front of my tent guarding it... :)
The camping is located a 2 minute walk outside of the town. Which for me was optimal because your still close by but have a much more quiet space than in the city.
I loved the evenings in the hammock, the surfing with Christian, cooking with fresh herbs from the garden and chia (the dog). Rarely could relax so well as here!...

We camped with our own tent on covered elevated platforms that kept all our stuff safe and dry. The location is perfect, just a short walk in to town and to the beach. Surfboard hire was cheap and the facilities, while basic, are perfectly adequate and clean. Cristian is a brilliant host, super friendly and relaxed and happy to help out with whatever you need. Really nice guy to chat with and if you’re lucky you might get the chance to go surfing with him! Would highly recommend Maracumbo to everyone...

Also a good sanitation with showers and WC and a place to eat and sit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And a very quiet calm place a bit outside of the village Mompiche, only around 7 Minutes by foot to reach the center. The owner Christian is a very sympathic Guy from Switzerland and lives there...
