We had high hopes when booking only one night at this Ecolodge for a weekend away from the kids and for our birthdays. We picked the most expensive hotel in Montanita thinking it would be up to par with a high end neighboring hotel called Cerro Lobo. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed, the 4 Star hotel was so overpriced at $220 and really should be downgraded to a 3 Star based on the room condition itself. Our Deluxe Double Room with Balcony and Sea View was very outdated with chipped paint all over the walls, dust between the bamboo headboard, black stains on sheets, black marks on the bamboo ceiling which could be a certain type of mold. In the evening we had tons of bugs falling from the ceiling or light and they turned out to be flying termites!

Upon arrival we complained about the condition of our room, it wasn’t worth what we paid and certainly not what we felt was advertised, but unfortunately all the rooms for an even exchange were worse and without a sea view. The only way we could get a better room was to upgrade for an additional $100. I didn’t want to waste more money since we didn’t even get what we paid for to begin with, but we did want to be able to enjoy our trip and offered to pay an additional $50, as we were away for a special occasion. The manager denied our request saying the room was normally over $400 per night and insisted he was already giving us generous a discount at the $100 upgrade rate. We felt like this wasn’t worth it and we also didn’t want to waste our trip spending time trying to change hotels so we just put up with it. After spending about an hour killing bugs that were falling from the ceiling and finding out they were flying termites I just had to mentally pretend I was camping to get through the night. They completely ruined our weekend getaway birthday trip.

Thankfully the breakfast the next morning was very good and the staff were nice.

I would however never come back again and suggest others to be aware if they are expecting a 4...

As I traveled through Ecaudor on my photography expedition adventure, I had the pleasure to stay and do a little work for @nativabambuec in Montañita, Ecuador. The suites were beautifully designed with natural and comfortable details. It was like sleeping in heaven, rooms were surrounded by the pacific ocean and mountains. The resort grows their own produce as well. So your meal was made with fresh ingridents! A taste to die for! Resort was Surrounded by Organic landscapes and trail hikes, a perfect way to see the most memorizing sunset in the world! The rooftop infinity pool and bar were also surrounded by the views. How else should you spend a hot afternoon with a perfect cocktail?? Barstaffs were incredibly friendly and helpful. My whole experience professionally and personal were unforgettable!! Thank you all @nativabambuec for treating me so lovely and giving me such a great opportunity to shoot for you! I highly recommend staying here if you’re in Montañita, Ecaudor. You will thank me for it! Check out my session and see for yourselves!! #lindapedrosophotography #nativabambuecolodge #ecuador #ecuador🇪🇨 #montanita #realestatephotography #hotelphotography #resortphotography #travelphotography #travelphotographer #internationalphotographer #international #southamerica #photoexpedition #adventure #nature #organic #lifestyle #lifestylephotography #worldtraveler #travel #oceanview #mountainview #pacificbeach #surfing #canon #green #rooftop #rooftoppool #infinitypool #beautiful #dope #blogger #hireme #bookme #happy #love #njphotographer #nycphotographer...

Stayed here in 2018 and everything then was amazing. The view can't be matched and compared to the hostels downtown, the VIEW IS SPECTACULAR! Thats where it ended for this time around family trip. Plumbing disaster in 3 rooms that a family of 12 stayed in. We are still here now and my elderly Mother in Law can't even use the toilet in the room. 420 room should be demoshed and rebuilt! Service has been zero accept for the hard working bartender at the pool. They couldn't even allow food to be brought up. The plumber was in out room in two days more than we were. No flushing water any where not even at the pool!! Disgusting smell of toilet water. As we have asked for a manager more than 5 times in 2 days , they simply told us no one is around. Just plain awful. Save your money and maybe try Dharma Beach, although we never stayed there. This is a 2 star MOTEL with a 5 star view. Absolutely disgusted with this entire...

We stayed here for two nights in early July 2019. Each night we were one of three rooms that were occupied. We had the undivided attention of the staff and they were wonderful. They upgraded our room free of charge out of concern that one of our kids would fall out off the top bunk. The room was comfortable, clean and had a lovely view. The AC was cold and the shower hot. The free breakfast was not overwhelming, but enough: eggs some small rolls and granola with yogurt, or French toast and fruit. The staff humored our never ending requests for coffee refills. I don't understand how the place starts in business with so few guests, but we benefited.

Awesome place. I was looking on-line just to stay one night in Montanita since we were visiting family in Guayaquil. I heard Montanita was the "happening" spot, so googled a few places that would have Private Parking for the car rental we had. When we pulled up, we were very impressed with everything. They have a spectacular pool, views and everything about this place is spectacular. Nightlife is awesome, they have their own nightclub overlooking the ocean, they give you a wristband to get in for free and a ticket for one free drink. They know how to treat their guests. I would definitely stay here again!
