I've never given a rating of 2 before. Our experience at this hotel contrasts with the majority of others, and I don't understand how others could rate this hotel with a high score. Two things we strongly disliked about this hotel, and two we liked. Location: The hotel is too far to walk into town, yet the setting is among abandoned or half built buildings and construction areas. There isn't one good looking building or public area within 1 km of this hotel. It's in a depressing area on the outskirts of town. Service: When we needed to catch a 5:30 am taxi to the ferry for a tour, the evening staff said he would arrange that for the next morning. By 5:40 am the taxi still hadn't come and we had to find a Plan B. When I talked with the main manager the next day, she said 5:30 am is too early. How can a hotel in the Galapagos Islands say it’s too early when tours leave at very early hours. A smaller disappointment was on the first and last nights of our stay, many young school kids checked in and made very loud noises until late at night. On the positive side, we liked the comfort (however, when we walked in the room we felt disappointed by the size and atmosphere of the room, but we overcame that), and the cleanliness. We chose this hotel because it was highly rated. We were disappointed. The value for money for this hotel is not good. "My family and I stayed at El Descanso del Guía this past January, and we had an incredible time. We were traveling with my husband, mother-in-law, and our children, who are 5 and 4 years old. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.||The bedrooms were cozy and nicely furnished, and we were pleased to find that there were no insects inside them. The highlight for us was definitely the swimming pool and the jacuzzi, which were both very clean and enjoyable. Our kids loved spending time in these amenities so much that they didn't even want to go on any tours - they still ask us when we can go back!||One of the best parts of our stay was the breakfast. It was cooked in front of us by the pool and was absolutely delicious. It was a great way to start our day and made us feel even more relaxed and at home.||The only less positive aspect is that, as the hotel clearly states when you book, it is a bit farther away from town center. However, it's still only a short taxi ride away - less than 5 minutes, in fact. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at El Descanso del Guía and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay...

В целом отель хороший. Если посмотреть, какие опции можно взять, то он даже очень неплохой. Но: Совершенно негде сушить одежду. Балконов нет, сушилок нет, в номере влажно постоянно. Кондиционеры расположены неудачно. Возможно, нужно было просить, но в номерах нет стандартного мыла и прочих наборов ушных палочек и т.п. Есть жидкое мыло и шампунь в диспенсере. Душевая не очень удачная - верхний душ-дождик. Завтрак, который входит в стоимость крайне бедный. Шведского стола нет, предлагается то, что готовят сегодня: это всегда нарезанные фрукты, кофе/чай, яйца в 3 видах (вареные, омлет, яичница) и йогурт 1 вида жидкий, сок без выбора, какой дадут. Основное блюдо завтрака меняется: или гренки (да, только гренки, вот и весь завтрак) или оладьи, или пирожки с сыром (вкусные, но странный завтрак). Вместо масла столовый маргарин. Мы его не едим. За 4 ночи мы не видели ни сыра, ни колбасы, ни других йогуртов и хлопьев, ни овощей. Кухни в отеле нет, только на завтрак. Под той же маркой есть ресторан - из него они возят на заказ еду. Дорого и ужасно невкусно. Просто переводят хорошие продукты... К тому же, пока довозят, всё стынет. В общем считайте, что есть в отеле нельзя. Только перекусить на завтрак.... Расположение. Плохо не то, что несколько на отшибе....Плохо, что вокруг разруха и стройка, а напротив энерго-генкраторная подстанция, которая издает характерный свист, потому что из солярки там получают электричество Плюсы: Персонал. Администратор Лорена ловила каждое слово и заглядывала в рот. Спасибо ей большое. Такой персонал и должен быть. Абсолютна чистота. В понятие уборки входит также некоторая организация пространства. Спасибо девушкам-горничным. Наличие бассейна и настольного тенниса. Вай-фай всё-таки был в номерах, и даже удалось поработать немного. Для Галапагосов это очень существенно. Номер большой и светлый. Постельное белье натуральное и очень приятный матрас.
