I had a pretty rough time here which is unfortunate for such a nice island. Construction was going on. Not the problem of the hotel sure I can look past that. Maybe something should have been mentioned that there's constant noise. But I can look past that. Give them the benefit of the doubt.
No one seemed to be able to speak English. There was no one ever at reception. I think they run the tour agency and another few businesses on the ground floor so they're mostly there.
Again not a problem.. just inconvenient sure.
When we booked in we were promised breakfast on the website we used. Our reservation confirmed breakfast. And we were confirmed breakfast during check in.
Great so I don't eat breakfast just maybe gonna grab a coffee to go before my 7am tour.
The ammount of hassle I had to go through is shameful.
The guy at the breakfast area says we didn't book breakfast. We show him our booking. He calls the owner. He says I need to wait 15 minutes for him to arrive. I think "forget this it's just a coffee I don't want to miss my ferry" I even tell the guy and leave.
Lo and behold when we get back we've had messages from the owner who I can only describe as rude and dismissive. He says "no you did not have breakfast booked. Can you not see it."
Sure maybe he sees it as it saying we didn't have it booked. I'm not blaming them..maybe some sort of issue with the third party booking company.
But come on man. Is a 1$ cup of coffee a hill you want to die on? Even if the issue isn't with you.
And I'm not saying you're you're making my life difficult on purpose. It would be nice if you atleast tried to resolve the issue politely with tact.
He sends us a screenshot confirming "no breakfast. Room with a balcony".. funnily enough we didn't even get a balcony room.
So yeah maybe it's not the fault of the business - maybe a problem with booking website. But if you're going to run a business little hitches like this happen from time to time. The easiest way to take care of it is to make the experience seamless and minimal for the customer and take up the fight with the booking agency.
Overall it's a no go for me. Worst part is we have been open about this and I rarely give 1* reviews. Hardly ever. I know how damaging it can be. We are open with the staff about our problems but get ignored. They have been given ample opportunity to put it right. That's why we had to cancel our last night and just find another hotel. Once we did that they said we forfeit the right to complain. Which makes no sense.
Just look at how they have dealt with the other negative reviews here. No doubt I will be called a waste of time and a customer not worth having. Or a liar.
Other negatives overall if you are willing to put up with bad management: It's like an 8 minute walk from the town and sea front. Staff are rude and just not there.
Positive: it's on the cheaper side of town so plenty of resteraunts etc with lower prices compared to the sea front.
Overall I'd say it's just not worth it. Not something you want on...

Read moreVery nice hostal, modern, very clean, very confortable room with all you need. 5 minutes walking from the center.||Let's go to the negative point. The director Philip, was not really a nice person, not at all available for the needs of the guests. The first night I realized that the light of my room was not warking. I text Philip to repair it. He came 1h after and told me it was late, that he will have done it the day after. The day after nothing was done, I text him again and he proposed me to change the room. I told him that, as it was evening, I could keep the same room, but I asked him to repare it the day after. The day after again nothing was made......3 days to repare it, nothing was done. Finally I asked to leave the room just 1h later, a courtesy in exchange of the technical problem.....and the answer was NO. But I have to say that his mom was very nice with me (but not with the very kind housekeeping), the let me use the kitchen to cut some fruits and she offered me some delicious fruits...
