TABABELA LAND — Hotel in Tababela

Our hotel booking came with free airport pick-up, but we didn't see the pick-up person at first. We were trying to figure out how to get a hold of the hotel when I walked outside and spotted someone walking up with a sign with my husband's name on it. The desk clerk didn't speak English, so we used our limited Spanish to get by. He gave us an English dinner menu, and we went to order at the front desk where we were told it would take about an hour for our food to be ready. ||The hotel seemed empty - pretty sure we were the only ones staying there. Our room was rather cramped with a full-sized bed and twin bed, so it was a bit hard to navigate. The room was clean, and we had enough pillows. It could be a bit loud with the vehicles on the street outside as well as talking and doors closing around the hotel building. Dinner ended up taking about two hours to prepare, but she was making my husband's chickpea burger from scratch. so that was understandable. I had the potato vegetable lasagna. Our food was tasty, plentiful, and good value. Breakfast was included in the morning, and we were served papaya, watermelon, yogurt, eggs, bread and cheese, and coffee. I would not recommend this place at all. When we're doing the check in, the person at the front desk wanted to charge us more than what said on the reservation. On their screen there was a higher initial price but also discounts were listed and the final price matched the one on the reservation. So, they wanted to charge us the initial price saying that the higher price was because of the dinner. But after we showed them the discounts listed on their screen, then they charged us the right price. We are from Ecuador and we speak Spanish. With this experience, we wonder how they would treat foreigners who don't speak Spanish..

No recomendaría este hotel para nada. Pasamos una mala experiencia porque intentaron cobrarnos valores mayores a los que ya estaban establecidos en la reserva. Demostramos que esos valores no eran los correctos y al verse descubiertos trataron de argumentar que era por la cena. The Hotel Tababela Resort that we stayed at last night was very comfortable, well-equipped and safe. The rooms are brand new and luxurious, and the staff was nice. HOWEVER, it is not the hotel referred to in the review "Everything and Perfectly" and some others, and not all of the photos on this listing correspond with this actual hotel. I was so disappointed, because I thought we were splurging on a quaint, interesting and authentic inn with sprawling grounds for the kids to play and homemade breakfast. Alas, it is a straightforward motel with comfortable rooms, free airport transfer, and a simple and basic complementary breakfast. Not really something to complain about, except that I wish I could figure out what that OTHER hotel is!! And I wish we hadn't blown our wad on this uninteresting, if totally...
