They went above and beyond, assisting with local recommendations and ensuring all our needs were met promptly. Their professionalism and attentiveness truly elevated our stay. Izumi Sushi Bar impressed with its authentic Japanese flavors, while LaPiazza’s Italian dishes were a crowd-pleaser. Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but what happened during my stay at Helnan Palestine Hotel was one of the most disturbing experiences I’ve ever had in any hotel.
This happened on the very first night of my stay – right at the start of day one. After taking a shower in my room, I reached for the towel – only to find what appeared to be period blood on it. It was truly one of the most disgusting and unacceptable moments of my life. I was in complete shock.
What made things worse was the staff’s response. I spoke to several people – they listened, looked shocked, and then simply walked away without even an apology. I asked for the housekeeping manager, who came in, took a photo of the towel, and left without a word. No explanation. No basic decency.
My eye turned red and irritated shortly after touching the towel. I don’t know if it was because of that or something else, but it added to the anxiety. I went down to the reception – again, cold reactions, no action, no concern. I had to leave for an important business meeting, and during the meeting, someone from the hotel brought me eye drops and claimed they examined the towel and concluded it was “fresh rust” not blood. Honestly, I hope that’s true. But even my colleague in the room agreed – it looked like blood.
If I weren’t tied up with a company event for three days, I would have left the hotel immediately. I’m from Alexandria and even considered going home each night just to avoid staying here. The lack of responsibility and the poor hygiene standards are shocking for a hotel of this supposed level.
In the middle of the day, someone finally came and informed me that they moved me to a better room and apologized. But by then, it didn’t matter anymore – the damage was already done. I’m writing this review before seeing the new room, because my issue is no longer about the upgrade. It’s about basic hygiene and human dignity – both of which were completely lacking.
Extremely disappointed. Would...
