One group of our Australian Tripadeal.com.au Egypt Travel group was booked into this hotel in October 2023 and it is hard to relate to the numerous glowing reviews of the Establishment as being relevant, appropriate and honest!
The hotel staff were difficult to deal with. My travel bag did not come to my room and after contacting reception an hour later was still not delivered. I had to personally go to reception to sort it out and finally go my bag to my room. The room air conditioning was freezing cold, could not be adjusted and I had to leave it turned off. Also the safe deposit box did not work and I could not get any response from Reception regarding fixing it.
The restaurant staff did not relate well to guests and could not understand our orders from the menu, with frustrated friends leaving in disgust and not ordering. The evening meals were delivered “Luke warm” and sent back to be replaced and other meals not ordered, delivered to our table. The breakfast buffet was basic.
The hotel is not located close to any amenities and or shopping areas, restaurants etc as indicated. It is in an old area of Cairo, between a Military Establishment and Jail and is on an extremely busy Road that is impossible to cross and you would not even consider it, fearing for your life. The pedestrian footpaths are deplorable, of uneven surface, with large potholes, trip hazards and drop offs with no railings. A number of travellers did try to venture out to a recommended restaurant, quite some distance away but shortly after commencing our journey they were stopped by military personnel and told to go back. On trying another alternative they were confronted by police and told to go back to the hotel.
The hotel is a “dry” hotel and did not have a pool, unlike many other hotels we noticed. What Travel company books Australian travellers into a dry hotel and for most of the group this was a huge disappointment, especially when the other part of the group were booked into a modern centrally located hotel with bar and pool facilities.
All up a very poor hotel selection, location and stay, that I would not recommend to any traveller going to Cairo hence my one (1) star honest...
Read moreThe Triumph Hotel is an amazing, super clean, it should be rated a 5 star hotel. Staff treated me like royalty. They know what I need before I even think about. The food in all there restaurants and the service is prom and super delicious. I met and dealt with Mr Samy who is the Manager of tourism in the hotel. Very professional gentleman, willing to help me 24/7. He knows his clientele on a first basis. I had 2 very minor issues in my room, but one phone call to the reception and each issue was fixed in under 5 min sharp. Service personal are available 24 hours a day. They came in, fixed the small issue so quick, very impressive. The coffee shop has an amazing assortment of cakes and Egyptian sweets to die for. As for security, I give them an A+ easily. The premises are so safe and secure due to the very hard working of the uniformed and undercover police officers. You will sleep so soundly because you know they follow all the security protocols, and screening of all luggage entering the hotel. The hotel is located in one of Cairo uperscale areas. Employees pride themselves in delivering exactly what the customers want and need. It is close to public transportation, buses, taxis and the subway (It's called Metro). Uber and Career are super friendly and I never waited more than 4 minutes the most. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone 7 days a week and twice on Sunday. Price is very reasonable and it comes with all you can eat for breakfast. They speak Arabic, English and French. I highly recommend this hotel. You will never regret it. What else can I say, I am treated very well, I feel like I am the king of my castle. The view from the balcony is spectacular. Keep up the good work, Mr Sammy, thank you for treating me like family. I hope to return your favors one day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thanks again for all the help and advice during my stay. Sherif...
