First of all: Call them before you book to make sure A/C is working, I live in the states most of my life and I am used to A/C to be on whether it's summer or winter. I was disappointed that they told me A/C is not working in the room I booked because November is considered winter and they turn it off in the winter months.

Front Desk: Nagy Nabil and Ahmed A.Raheem are nice people that joke around with you and stuff. one thing I didn't like is when I extended my stay which I did 5 times, I had to only book through booking.com, then go down to the hotel every time I extend and it must be before checkout time to pay for the new reservation. Usually, in all the hotels I been in, and in Egypt as well, I just call the front desk and tell them to check my reservation, then I just pay later whenever I am by the Lobby. I am not sure if this is the system of the Hotel but that can be annoying because it shows no trust between the guest and the hotel.

Also, one time I left them a note that I might extend and will let them know before 11 am which I did at the end but they gave my room to someone else and I had to move to the new room which I hate to pack and move.

Beach: great sand and the sea is sandy no rock or coral reefs, and it gets deeper slowly so you can stop wherever you feel comfortable.

Walks: beautiful Walk road inside the hotel to the left or to the right that goes to all the hotels, nearby, you can Walk, Run, Rent a bike, or even a cart if you have a family or just lazy to do any activity.

Food: is absolutely delicious and fresh, I suggest All-inclusive especially in Sahl Hashish because places are far from each other so you will struggle to go to a restaurant and room service isn't cheap if you staying more than a couple of days.

Location: it's in a great location in Sahl Hashish, almost in the middle, there are a couple of restaurants nearby that you can walk to, cafes, and bars to chill at. Sahl Hashish is 25-30 minutes away from Hurghada downtown.

Entertainment: there are daily shows in the lobby which to me they were alright nothing to go crazy about but hey they let people participate so it can be fun too. One day there was a show done by Mustafa Ali Fayek, things like walking on glass and do other dangerous games, and this was fun to watch. There are also yoga classes in the morning by the beach, volleyball, other activities to do, and some shows are done by Brazilian dance people that was fun.

Wifi: is fair not complaints.

Room: rooms on sea view are kinda old and had no A/C, on the other hand, the Chalet room has a mini sea view with a full pool view, way modern, and has it's own A/C at any time, and both options were the same price.

Overall I would go back, but just the two problems I mentioned earlier about the reservation and stuff didn't make me feel like a guest but more like a customer or client that the hotel is just doing business with. Money first then we serve you kind of thing. That was my only issue but it can be a reason for me to try a different hotel nearby to feel more like home.

Thank you for having me there, my review is honest about how I felt in my stay and I wish you can fix those small errors because it will make a...

I visited this resort last August, i have been wanting to write this review since so here it goes We went as a group of 10 people ,3 of were seniors over 70, My family of 4 we came from Canada having high hopes of this trip.and my sisters family of 3. it took reception forever to finish the accommodation , apparently they didn't have enough bracelet s for the halfboard, by that time breakfast was done and we had to wait until dinner😞. But at that point we didn't care we were so excited we wanted to see the beach.🌊 we went to the rooms they were clean but i wouldn't say at all 5 star rooms . i can give it 3 stars max. Then the beach.. Ah the beach.. that is 5 star the sand ,the water 👍 Then closer to dinner we were starving we intered the buffet restaurant food LOOKED amazing a lot a lot of variety all looking delicious but sadly the food didnt taste good i tried other options still no flavor.. I couldn't believe my self this is Egypt the best we can do is food , and even this you fail.?. And dont forget we didn't have breakfast so we would eat anything..but na There is no night life after that.. The show they had was lame.maybe it was fun for kids .the 2 we had in the group were 14 and 17 so no kids. Our vacation was 4 nights that was our first.

Second day breakfast no taste even the cheese only thing to eat is the omelette. That tasted good..so the breakfast was eh ok Beach again untill dinner and the cycle continues That night my daughter 14 had FOOD POISONING vomiting and diarrhoea all night no medication worked until the pharmacy opend at 10 am in next day to get her an injection a family doctor prescribed over the phone . That killed half of our day 3. Third nignt i had the food FOOD POISONING.. and same dam thing pain and diarrhoea and vomiting untill the pharmacy opened that is our day 4. You would think our tragic experience ended there but no ,my son 17 had to be the last nights victim of FOOD POISONING and to his bad luck we were checking out that day so by the time he took the family tradition injection it was time to pack and leave to catch our flight back to Alexandria. And on the front desk i spoke to the hotel manager he apologized and he didn't deny that there were similar cases of food poisoning like us in the hotel.

What a shame that after 10 years not being to Egypt and when i take my kids there this happens my son almost hated Egypt but that was fixed thank God for the nile and the pyramids , but Hurghada sadly is done for us because of your resort .

I'm editing this review July 2021 But the original review was in 2018

......... it's almost 3 years now since I went to that resort

I still can't forget the very bad experience as if it was yesterday

What a shame

My precious time in Egypt that I can't bring back.

I tell anyone I know that plans to go to Hurghada to stay away from your...

Simply the best. I’ve been visiting Hurghada for the last 10 years and stayed in many different resorts but it was my fourth visit to the Old palace where I could really describe it by now as my second home, from the minute we checked in to the last second the staff always been fantastic offering great hospitality with a smile and there were nothing too much for them to solve or sort out to make our stay near perfect. Regardless the late arriving at 22:00 night time as it was the only direct flight available, check in was super smooth and there was a hot meal waiting for us in the main restaurant at 23:00 we really appreciated this meal so much as we were starving after nearly 13 hours of travelling with only small meal on the flight, Top mark for all the reception staff M.Memy, Ramy and M.Amin and the rest for sorting out all our rooms, for the upgrades and the late checkout. On the second day we were quiet impressed by the landscape garden it was fantastic and well kept and improved massively from the year before with the present of some wild birds it was like paradise special salute to all the garden staff for their hard work. Rooms were so great with massive modern flat screen LG tv many cupboards and storage area, clean sheets daily and very comfortable beds, sea view balcony out it of this world and well worth the extra for sea few, wifi been reasonable all the holiday far better than other resorts we stayed in before. Heated pool, Jacuzzi were great especially later on the afternoon when the temperature usually goes down, guards and barmen always there to offer a great service specially Amr Nasser. Food wise, Old palace is hard to beat, simply it is not your usual cheap commercial materials been used to feed the mass with big tasteless cuisines, you can tell there is an effort with every single dish been cooked again special requests were always welcome, we truly appreciate all the efforts from the head chef, omelette, pasta and the deserts chefs, special thanks to Grill chef Mahmoud Megally for his fantastic marinated grilled meats and fish made with passion first class keep the good work Mr Megally. G.R.Neveen received a few notices which were corrected and improved super fast, great team work, and very high level of customers care with swift results. We are proud of you Neveen. The sea stretch and the sandy long beach of the best in Sahel Hashish there were always sun lounges available and we enjoyed many hours swimming and sunbathing, beach staff been very helpful and caring. Entertaining team was good especially for the younger generation of the family with many activities and good level of energy. On behalf of my family I thank Old palace for making my holiday a great time to remember we shall miss you all till next year wish you all a prosper season and a great...

📍A day in Sahl Hasheesh 🌊: One of the coasts off of Egypt's Red Sea. Known for its calm waters and fancy resorts, the entire coast hosts many visitors each year, both foreign and local. It's only a 30 minute drive from Hurghada so if you're looking for a place to relax with your family or honeymoon, this is definitely one of the chillest vacation spots in egypt 😊 #fyp #travel #beach #sahlhasheesh #egypt #egyptspots #sahel #vacation #petfriendly #calmwaters #hotelsinegypt #hotel #resort

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Old Palace Resort in Sahl Hasheesh for a week in December. As a Canadian reuniting with my 25-year-old daughter, as well as my old folks and siblings, this trip was meant to be special—and Old Palace Resort exceeded all our expectations. We booked two connecting rooms, which were both spacious and offered a breathtaking view. The service was impeccable, and every member of the staff contributed to making our stay unforgettable. Despite it being December, we were able to enjoy the beach during the midday hours until sunset, thanks to the mild and enjoyable weather. The all-inclusive package was a fantastic choice, especially with the variety and quality of the food offered. All three meals were delightful, but I have to highlight the breakfast and dinner spreads. Each dinner featured diverse options, and the Egyptian-themed dinner was particularly memorable. The chef himself greeted guests warmly, always with a smile, and his positive attitude was contagious. I also want to give a special mention to Ahmed, the restaurant manager, whose professionalism and friendliness stood out, as well as the waitstaff who went above and beyond to ensure everyone’s needs were met. The live grill station at dinner was an excellent touch and quickly became a personal favorite. A special highlight of my stay was the surprise birthday celebration my brother arranged for me. The restaurant team, in collaboration with a talented singer, created a truly memorable evening. It was a wonderful celebration, filled with joy and laughter, and I deeply appreciated the effort they put into making the occasion so special. The animation team also deserves a shout-out for their efforts in organizing fun night activities. From live performances to interactive games, they added an extra layer of enjoyment to our evenings. It was clear they put a lot of thought and energy into creating an engaging atmosphere for all guests. The front office staff also deserve recognition. They were professional, accommodating, and made our experience seamless, even extending our late checkout—a gesture my family greatly appreciated. A high five to the operational manager and the general manager, whose leadership was evident in the superior service and smooth operations throughout the resort. As a frequent traveler based in North America, I’ve visited numerous resorts and hotels worldwide. Without hesitation, I can say this is one of the best places I’ve stayed. Whether you're traveling with family, as a couple, or solo, Old Palace Resort offers an exceptional experience that I would highly recommend to anyone. One piece of advice: arrive with a positive attitude. The staff here are incredibly friendly, and your stay will be all the more enjoyable if you reciprocate their warmth and hospitality.
