We stayed at Jaz Mirabel Beach Resort for one week. It’s a large, well-kept resort with beautiful gardens and plenty of space to unwind.
Arrival & Check-in
The transfer from the airport took about 30 minutes. The first impression was great – the entrance and lobby are beautiful, and the reception staff were polite and welcoming. Check-in was smooth.
Room
We stayed in the “Shops View” section, though our balcony actually overlooked the lobby terrace and fountain. The location was convenient, close to the buffet, but slightly noisy in the evenings due to the concerts on the lobby terrace.
The rooms are dated and could use a renovation soon, but they were clean and comfortable overall. The beds were quite hard and squeaky, and the pillows weren’t very comfortable — ideally, there should be two per person with different firmness options. The bathroom was spacious, with a large shower, big mirror, and a lovely makeup mirror.
Housekeeping was excellent — our cleaner always left fun towel creations and made sure we had fresh water daily. The air conditioning worked well (though a bit noisy, being an older unit).
Food & Drinks
The main buffet offered good food but limited variety. Breakfast was the same every day, but we enjoyed our morning omelettes. Coffee from the Nescafé machine was decent, though a proper espresso machine would be a big plus.
Lunch and dinner had more variety — I especially liked the outdoor BBQ, and the man working there was always so kind. The fresh fruit was a highlight, especially the mango! We also tried pizzas at the snack bars, which were quite good.
The resort has several bars, and we mainly used the Blue Bar by the pool during the day, and the Lobby and Sports Bars in the evenings. The quality of drinks and service varied a lot depending on the bartender. Some were friendly and made great cocktails; others seemed irritated and uninterested. It often felt that tipping influenced attention, which isn’t ideal.
Buffet service during lunch and dinner was often chaotic. It felt like the hotel was understaffed: tables were slow to be cleaned, often missing cutlery or napkins, and getting a drink order taken (and delivered) was inconsistent. It sometimes seemed that guests who tipped more received faster attention, which shouldn’t happen.
Facilities & Activities
The pools were wonderful — several to choose from, including a family pool with music and an adults-only pool for relaxing. The pools were cleaned daily and the water temperature was perfect. There were enough sunbeds overall, but many guests reserved them early in the morning (despite the hotel’s policy against it) and staff didn’t seem to enforce this rule.
The animation team was active and offered activities, but I wish they’d respect guests’ “no” a bit more — sometimes they were too persistent, especially the male animators. The female animators were lovely, especially Tori.
Beach & Sea
The sea was beautiful and very clean. It’s shallow for quite a distance, making it perfect for families with children. You can snorkel right in the lagoon and see stingrays, crabs, pufferfish, eels, and other marine life.
There’s also a long pier (over 700 m) where you can snorkel off the end. During our stay, the red flag was up most days, so we only managed to snorkel there once — but it was worth it! The coral reef is stunning. Life jackets are available free of charge.
Staff & Service
Staff friendliness was mixed. Some employees were warm, professional, and spoke good English. Others had only basic English skills and seemed disengaged or unmotivated, particularly in the restaurant and bar areas.
Overall, the stay was worth the price. The grounds, pools, and general resort atmosphere are lovely, and with some upgrades and improved service, this could truly feel like a top-tier five-star resort.
Things to Improve
Renovate the rooms: refresh furniture, repaint walls, replace mattresses and pillows.
Improve service consistency: ensure staff treat all guests equally,...
Read moreSuperb holiday and so glad to have returned after a little gap in visits. My nephews first time in Egypt/Sharm and he was blown away by the resort and hotel. The staff are exceptional and will help with anything. From the moment you arrive the lobby blows you away, luggage taken to your room for you and buggy ride is good fun. Our room was upgraded as it was recognised I'd stayed before and this was appreciated as our travel company actually messed up the room type. I cannot fault the staff whether that be the pool, restaurants, reception, bars, spa or housekeeping. Since my last visit I can say the food has improved further and it wasn't bad before, we did try the family restaurant one night and this wasn't the best but perhaps we just chose a bad day. The adult restaurant had amazing range of food, the bbq/grill chef outside was our new best friend, he was so friendly and ensure we always had great chicken, beef, crab, fish or whatever was on the grill that night. The evening entertainment used to be non-existent (almost) this time there was a difference event each night. Pool areas were immaculate throughout and cleaned regularly, lifeguards soon duty at every pool every minute they were open. Pool bar staff were very attentive, my nephew felt like royalty not needing to leave his sunbed to get a drink. The poolside snacker/restaurant was amazing and the chicken Caesar salad was our favourite, so much more variety than when I was last here, they do a later breakfast at the pool snacker and also food from 1pm-4pm. All of the rooms are large in size and very spacious, great for families or couples. The rooms are still of a high standard and no major refurbishment is required, some painting and lamp replacements but otherwise exceptional with great balcony views of pools or sea (some garden views as well so clarify when booking). The Spa was a good experience and we enjoyed our massage although it was a little pricey or Egypt as it was around same cost as in London but otherwise very good. You are given a map of the resort on arrival but I don't think its very clear as I was asked on at least 4 occasions where the family restaurant was, which I was only too happy to help. SOOOO many sunbeams that you DO NOT need to rush down to reserve any. Rooms are provided with bottled water and beach towels, there is body moisturiser and shampoos in bathroom as well as hair dryer. The resort and grounds are maintained to a very high standard and at night are just as impressive. We will definitely be back, in fact my nephew tried to get me to book again two days into our holiday.... The only reason I didn't mark the room as 5 stars was our air conditioning kept breaking down and door handle came off but these were fixed within 48hrs. As I said there are very minor things that need improving across the rooms, all other areas are cleaned and freshly painted every year. We didn't use the pool slides on the occasion as both a bit too big now and best way to avoid illness. On the day we left we didn't have to leave until 3pm but we could check out and still use all the facilities and restaurants, staff collected our luggage for us when we were ready. The hotel does off a babysitting service for an extra fee, my nephew suggested booking it for me so id stop asking him to get into the pool (I'm 39). some of the pools are heated and other are not so be warned! There are very few negative comments I can think of. I'd suggest having a digital board in reception and an app so guests can see a clear map but also entertainment schedule, perhaps even what the grilled food options are that night. I wish I could name all of the staff as there were so many that made my nephews first time in Egypt memorable, a big thank you from me! To name a few. Alaa (bar was exceptional), pool staff - Mohammed, Abdul, Mohammed (Bbq/grill chef), Mohammed (room attendant), breakfast chef at omlett station (had no...
Read moreCompared to most hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, Jaz Mirabel Beach Hotel is quite attractive in terms of its overall appearance. There are many palm trees and beautiful bushes around the hotel. It has several large pools, and there's plenty of space for everyone to sunbathe.
Considering the hotel's price-to-quality ratio, the rooms are satisfactory. They're not new, but they're not very old either. Quite typical. I've encountered much worse and older rooms in Sharm El Sheikh than those in Jaz Mirabel. On several occasions, I caught the housekeeper cleaning my room. The floors were nicely mopped with water, not just swept with debris. The bed was well-made. If you're friendly with the housekeepers and other hotel staff, they treat you very well and surprise you with little gestures. For example, several days in a row, the housekeeper made beautiful swans out of towels on the bed, etc.
Throughout the day, there were a variety of activities and programs around the pool and beach. The entire day was well-organized.
The promoter girls were polite and not pushy.
The only truly annoying experience I had was with the men who offered various massage services. It's fine when they come to offer their services 1-2 times at most. But when the same person asks you 10 times in one day if you want a massage, and you've politely declined multiple times, they should understand that there's no point in asking for an 11th time.
All the drinks made at the bars were very good, and I have no complaints about them.
95% of the Jaz Mirabel staff were very friendly and helpful. They smiled and greeted you nicely. Unfortunately, a few individual staff members were quite rude and had big egos. Although they weren't even department heads, just regular bartenders.
The food experience at Jaz Mirabel varied quite a bit from day to day. I'm not sure if it's due to different chefs or ingredients. Sometimes the chicken was very dry and tasteless, but the next day the food was super good and tasty. I liked that they offered different types of food on different days. One day there was a sushi night, and another day featured more fish, etc.
The food selection was enough to fill your stomach and enjoy a variety of flavors. At the snack bar, the burgers and pizzas were great, but the pizza from the main restaurant had a strange taste.
In general, there were no significant issues with the food. The waitstaff was very quick to bring drinks, and everyone was very helpful. One strange incident happened during lunch when I was served wine that was clearly diluted with water or something else. Otherwise, the wine was always great during the previous days.
The hotel overall is safe, and I would visit it again. The location is good as well. You can reach Soho Square in 17 minutes, and the airport is nearby.
Every evening, different bands and dancers performed.
One great feature is that you can choose between two dining options in the hotel. You can eat at the +18 restaurant or the family-friendly restaurant. Families with children have their own dining area, while couples who want peace and quiet can dine at the +18 restaurant.
The pools were good. Some of them were heated, and it was nice to swim in them.
Overall, Jaz Mirabel is a good hotel. I would...
