I don’t understand how anyone could give this place a 5-star rating. It isn’t terrible but certainly not worthy of more than 3 stars. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the central square and the garden is pretty but that counts for just so much. My room was cramped, dark and cold containing nothing beyond a big bed, 3 old coat hangers on a rail and an invalid shower chair. Yes folks, while there was no ordinary chair there was one of those things with holes in the seat that is used for showering people who can’t stand properly to wash themselves. What is that about? The wifi in my room was very bad. When it functioned, which was less than 50% of the time during my 2-night stay, it was slow enough to be reminiscent of the old dial up days.||On the plus side the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was functional with good water pressure and ample hot water but, the mattress was covered in plastic that crackled whenever I turned over and the bathroom had no window so everything gets fairly steamed up. The much praised terrace is okay but the weather during my stay was misty and cool with the furniture all swathed in plastic so it was less of an asset than it would be during sunny days. ||Breakfast was included but my omelet incurred an additional 55 cent charge and although a perfectly nice omelet was not the one that I had ordered and came with bread even though I had agreed to tortillas as an alternative. Small complaints but it all adds up to less than 5 -tar facilities...
Read moreWonderful hotel in Ataco! We had a one-night stay here, reserved last-minute.
The hotel is very cute, with a nice courtyard that is well-taken care of, a restaurant with indoor seating and a small bar, and outdoor seating options. Our reservation included breakfast and while we supplemented it with an extra order to ensure we had fruits/yogurt, the servings were plentiful and everything was delicious. The staff are also very professional, friendly and helpful.
The rooms are on the smaller side, but comfortable. Great flow of hot water, small but comfortable bathroom.
The location is also great, just a couple of blocks to restaurants, cafes, touristy shopping, but also far away enough to be quiet.
A couple of minor negative points:
The smell of the cleaning solutions they use, which is typical in El Salvador (I think it's Pinesol?). The smell is very strong and unpleasant, especially for those of us with sinus issues.
There was a repetitive noise in the room, which might have been the washing machines in use. I didn't have an issue since I was super tired, but my travel partner claimed they couldn't sleep due to the noise.
The yogurt and the granola served with the fruit/yogurt option on the menu were too sweet and artificially flavored. I suggest offering plain, natural options for those of us who can't eat high sugar foods.
Overall a solid option and I highly...

We booked a family room and let me tell you it was amazing! Everything was super clean , beds were huge , and to my surprise there were 2 bathrooms which made it easy to get ready with 4 girls. The breakfast was delicious all the staff was super helpful and friendly. Everything was super close to walk the whole town. Fast forward to April 2024 and made a second trip to Ataco and stayed at this Amazing hotel with all my cousin's. This time we got to meet the General manager. Now I know why this place runs amazingly. He is the most kindest friendliest person we met. And again our stay was so nice and comfortable. Everything so clean and organized. We are exited to come back again and bring more family to stay at this most hospitable Hotel. Thank you to all the staff for being...
