Xochikalko Restaurante — Restaurant in Departamento de Ahuachapán

Google map says it opens at 1130 but I was there earlier and I asked if they were opened and they showed me into the restaurant. I was the first customer in the restaurant and the waitress was quite attentive in serving me. I asked her to recommend and she asked me to try the house specials. The dishes I asked for she will always go to the kitchen to check if it was available. So I ended up ordering the chicken soup and the chicken crepe. Am not sure how it when but somehow the order got wrong and I got more things than I expected. The soup and the crepe was served but later came another plate of chicken and rice. I was not sure what it was but ended up eating it because I knew it was going to be in the bill anyway and ended up getting very full. The food was okay! If you wanna have some snacks and a cup of coffee in the afternoon, the place is great for this! We had a Burger, a salvadoran platter, french fries with cheddar cheese and a chicken crepe. The only thing that me and my friends really disliked is that the attention was very VERY poor! We were the only ones at the restaurant and the waitress wasn't giving us any attention or asking if we needed something else...nothing! Prices for snacks are okay but the main dishes are a bit too expensive for this country. We loved the deco of the place and everything was very neat and clean.

Unfortunately i came here based on the reviews. All i can say was it’s extremely disappointing. The Caesar salad is not even close. Its a mixed green salad with tomatoes green peppers, broccoli, sautéed onions topped with a store bought unflavoured dressing. I ordered the sopa de gallina and got a chicken leg instead of soup. When i said it was not what i ordered, the kitchen staff were laughing when they brought out soup. Doesnt instill confidence.
