Hostal Mayara — Hotel in Municipio de Chiltiupan

Definitely more of a guesthouse than a hostal. The place is run by a family of women, incredibly kind and welcoming! They let us use the kitchen and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay.

The room was nice and clean (bed slightly on a smaller size for two although my partner liked that). It does get a little noisy in the morning with the roosters waking you up but it was fine for us as we would rise with the sun. About a 10min walk to the beach, we enjoyed taking the route via the river ◡̈

All in all a lovely place, very affordable if you need to stop for a couple of days...

We stayed here for 5 days. Our room and bathroom was very clean and we were super happy with our stay. AC worked well, dogs were super friendly and chill. The host was very kind, I could only speak a little Spanish but it was still super easy to communicate. Nice little 5 min walk to the beach. Well priced. Lots of space to keep surfboards and wash them...

The room is ok, it is more like a guest house than a hostel. Dog Barking all night was annoying and some nasty noise of people working right next to the room starting at 7am was also bad! It has the same price as other hotels closer to the beach and with a swimming pool. I don't think it...
