Just returned from spending a month there as part of my elective with the Indiana University School of Medicine and it was incredible. From the very first day, Eduardo and his grandmother made me feel right at home. They are some of the nicest people you will ever meet and they constantly check in with you to make sure if there is anything they can improve on to make your experience better. I could not have imagined a better place to stay and if I go back in the future then there is no other place I would want to stay.

They are making renovations all the time and you can tell that they are really trying to build the business into something huge. I would not be shocked if it is the most popular place to stay in town within the next 5 years. If I could give it 10 stars, I would. 5 stars does not do it justice. Seriously. My first time going to chchitoto i stay at the Hostal El Amate for ten dayes i enjoy everyday staying there I was amazed from the family who owns the Hostal El Amate Ghlita and Edwardo the way they treat me make me feel part of the family the way of welcoming me they are there for me if i need any thing rooms was very clean i enjoy seting look at there garden It's very good location

Stayed for two nights. Excellent location and 5 minutes walk to downtown and the same amount of time to the museum Alejandro Coto and 25 minutos walk to the lake.
