Hostal Raíces de Mi Pueblo — Hotel in Municipio de Suchitoto

I thoroughly enjoyed my many nights at Hostal Raices de mi Pueblo.

The hostel is very clean, the staff is extremely helpful, and the views from the common balcony splendid. The common area is ample, with hammocks, tables, conversation area.

This is not a party hostel (when I was there anyway) and I hope it stays this way. It likely will as it's owned by a nice family who live on the premises.

The roosters woke me up at times but earplugs helped and I somewhat accustomed to it. It didn't affect my 5-star rating as it's simply part of real life in a pueblo. It added to the experience. It may also depend on the room location. I loved my room, it was a the back of the property, near the roosters LOL. Bring a pair of earplugs just in case, and I think you'll be fine. To avoid surprises, although it's noted in the listing, there are no hot showers (some rooms may have some, I'm not sure). This wasn't an issues for me as I found it refreshing (a tad shocking at first); it certainly was not a show-stopper for me. I believe the price reflect this lack of feature.

I highly recommend Raices de mi Pueblo. If i'm back in Suchitoto, it'll at the top of my list. :)

We stayed at this hostal for three nights. The staff were lovely and helpful despite our bad Spanish! The first room we were in upstairs did get quite hot, however they provided us with 2 fans to help with this. We had a small incident where the shower flooded into the room and the staff helped and were able to accommodate us in a room downstairs which was much cooler. The room we had was extremely small. A ridiculous table for make up was shoved in, although 😅 A bed and that ridiculous table, non functional... It was a sleepless night because there were cocks and dogs alarming and barking all night. The atmosphere in general was strange, I didn't feel welcomed. The service kind of rude.
