I usually prioritize my time to exclude writing reviews due to a very busy schedule. However, in this case I chose to sacrifice my time hoping it will serve for the greater good and possibly someday even instigate changes for the better. We chose to stay at Weronia’s best 2-room with a tub suite on 3rd floor for the 1s time back in 2006. Considering general limitations of this region we thought this particular room back then offered acceptable accommodations after being just remodeled. Therefore in November of 2011 after confirming that it is still the best Johvi, Estonia had to offer we have reserved the same room again. Upon arrival we were able to confirm in person once again that this was still the hotel’s best room. Once we hiked to the 3rd floor, we proceeded to the end of the corridor and walked into the room. We were greeted with an unexpectedly strong, revolting odor of aged human urine and cigarette smoke mixed together into a pungent nasty stench. The disgustingly offensive smell was coming from the only bathroom in this so-called “suite” and the guilty toilet was still obnoxiously laughing “disinfected” right into our face – this was the note that was shamelessly left of top of the cover of the foul-smelling toilet. Due to the perceived lack of another option for us we proceeded to further assess this bathroom… The grout between the sink, bathtub and the tile walls was covered with scum… To our growing disgust the bathtub was revultingly displaying a filthy dark rim of built-up impurities - the unquestionable record of all the bath taking that obviously took place here in at least the last 5 years with no intrusion of even a modest cleaning. There was still more… just turn on the sink faucet and the plugged up sink will quickly get filled up and surface a variety of filth collected from all the previous stays… The room itself treasured a single (yes, I mean one and only) glass and even this one was unusable because it was hard-coated with layered remains of whatever its past contents were. Scarce bedding failed to conceal old blood-like stains on the covers. And don’t even try to look for an extra pillow or a blanket – the hospitality level of this hotel (would be more appropriately referred to as “hostel” at best) would not permit for it. And if you dare to ask the reception for it, you would be fined 10 more Euros for it. Our advice is - run! And look for another option. Hope the information in this review will help you to spare yourself from being...
Read moreAccording to the locals it`s the only place in Jõhvi which can be called "hotel". The location is good. The hotel is located on the second and third floor of some building. It takes some effort to find the right entrance. The first impression was a strong smell of fast-food in the reception. There is no door between the reception and restaurant area; the smell was not pleasant. The staff is nice and helpful. The room was quite small, not very comfortable, but it was ok! The breakfast was included in the room rate, but was...
