Hotel Alba — Hotel in Jyväskylä sub-region

The hotel is located on the shore of beautiful Lake Jyväsjärvi, in line of sight of one of University of Jyväskylä's campuses. The city center is a 20-minute walk away. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the room, this may not be a great choice for you as the rooms are small and fairly modestly outfitted. If, however, you plan to sleep there, have breakfast and be away for the day, this is an excellent choice at a reasonable price. The rooms are clean and pleasant, with well outfitted bathrooms and good hot water pressure. Access to high speed internet is unproblematic. Breakfast is included and provides an excellent selection; if you want to fully enjoy it I'd suggest planning to skip lunch. You'll get excellent service at the restaurant, bar and reception. There are two or three beers on tap but you're better off with bottles - this sees to be a more general recommendation in Finland, even in there are many good Finnish beers. The path around the lake is perfectly suited for a jog or a bike ride and the hotel provides bikes at no extra charge. Unfortunately, there is no gym. My only complaint is that smoking is allowed on the beautiful patio and one may get the occasional whiff of cigarette smoke in the rooms situated immediately above. I may be biased because I was there on university business (see campus across the lake in the attached picture) but am definitely looking forward to...

it`s quite sad that management only tries to make more money we were here again like so many years, but this time we were disappointed. Unfortunately, the overall state of the building and rooms is in need of update - and either management changed or price policy is no longer customer friendly: generally free parking clean room excellent breakfast withhuge food selection extreme friendly multilingual staff very pet freindly

even the parking is free, but as there are limited spaces available we had to pay 10.- EURO additonal for parking lot reservation (we just wanted to be sure to have a free place for all our car staff) cold room low-quality toilet paper this time no rooms with lake view as we got every visist...

Absolutely surprizing experience. Hotel in great location, situated on the shore of Jyväsjärvi lake in the middle of university campuses. 20 minutes from local airport. Very comfortable and practically furnished rooms with an excellent view of the lake (I recommend choosing a room with a private sauna, it's really worth it). Good breakfast, the hotel restaurant is also good. What is really brilliant, is the very nice and helpful reception staff, who will give you comprehensive information about local transport, sights, and will recommend a really great local restaurant (Kissanviisket, you must visit). Jyväskylä has very nice Alvar Aalto museum, Central Finland museum and, nearby in Tikkakoski you will find the Finnish Air...
