16.2.2024: I admit, i never had Bao Buns before. And it has been a long time i have visited a restaurant/pub on a friday night. But, going to have dinner to a place people come to eat, you have expectations.

The food was nice, The buns were light and the marinated quorn was fine. I really liked the pickled red onion and red cabbage. Jalapeno jam could have had more kick to it, or to have more of it. The dish just left me feel like i wanted more. Spring onion lovely, the chips mediocre (maybe some salt and pepper is needed). Food a 3+/5.

Service was well handled. But there were some issues, not due to servers but the surroundings. You nearly had to shout to hear and be heard. Otherwise handled well and correct. Service 4/5.

The atmosphere was really noisy. Almost like a rock consert. There was absolutely zero noise cancelling elements / acoustic panels anywhere. It was a flat ceiling and an open space with serious issues with being able to even hear your own thoughts. Perhaps some insulation and panels could help. It was really impossible to concentrate to anything due to the noise. This must be put on a list for development and on top of that. It just ruined the atmosphere and the tasting. It just felt like i need to get out of here asap. Atmosphere 1/5.

The toilets had style though. They were ok. You go down long stairs so definetely a limitation (for handicapped?) there but perhaps needed to get rid of the noise. Pricewise, 18€ for the dish, 8€ for the beer. I expect much more due to my much better experiences at some nice buffets that are half the price (12.50-13.70€). A nice restaurant near the center of Jyväskylä, with not much to complain about - though I would have enjoyed a larger menu in terms of vegan/vegetarian options, as those were quite limited.

I enjoyed a dish that had goat cheese & chicken in a red wine sauce with seasonal root vegetables, and my companion had a halloumi hamburger with fries. Both portions were perfect, but as I said, I wished to have a vegetarian meal but instead chose this when I didn't see vegetarian options that interested me enough.

The restaurant was quite packed and it was slightly noisy, though we were still able to converse well enough that it didn't...

I ordered the chicken breast with goat cheese; unfortunately it was quite dreadful. The only saving grace the dish had were the sweet potato and goat cheese, though that's likely due to the fact they were left pretty much untouched beyond basic cooking. The rest of the dish tasted only of salt and charcoal. The food the rest of my party ordered was to their satisfaction, though they weren't exactly in love with it either. The staff wasn't rude per say, not really welcoming either. There was nearly an hour before the next party's reservation, and yet we were reminded we should start making our leave pretty soon...
