A hotel in Rauma that breathes the atmosphere of old times. Yes, everything was better before and that also applies to hotels in a excellent location. In a hotel room, old-time dignity in a good way. Window sills and sturdiness in furniture. The windows have good awnings and lots of windows that can be opened because there is naturally no air conditioning. All this beats modern nonsense. Then when the room still had a good shower, a good bed, a good pillow and friendly staff in the hotel, and the breakfast was also comprehensive. So what else does it really need? Nothing. Special mention to the staff for good and humane service. I also thank you for the possibility of parking a motorcycle, which was helpfully arranged. The rooms were ok. The beds are very different from what I expect, as an American, and I had a hard time sleeping. The showering being over the toilet was surprising but it worked and I manage not to make a mess. Being in old town though, I wanted the exterior to be like many of the other older building. The exterior is actually more like 70s art deco style in America.

Menimme suurin odotuksin ko. paikkaan syömään. Alkuruokana ollut maa artisokkakeitto oli aivan loistavan makuista, tosin en ymmärtänyt miksi keitossa on nyrkillinen herneenversoja kun hyppysellinen persiljaa olisi antanut paremman vaikutuksen. Mutta siis keitto maistui kuitenkin aivan loistavalta ja antoi odottaa, että vielä parempaa olisi luvassa...ei ollut. Itse söin pääruokana possun sisäfilettä kermakastikkeella ja uuniperunalla. Ensinnäkin lautanen oli kylmä tulessaan pöytään eli ruoka oli vain haaleaa. Uuniperunalaji ei ollut tavanomainen Rosamunda vaan joku toinen ja tuntui kovalta keseltä. Annokseen kuulunee vihannekset osittain näyttivät huonoilta ja maistuivat ja tuoksuivat etikkaisilta. Jälkiruokana ollut tyrnijäätelö hädintuskin maistui tyrniltä. Seurueeni toinen osapuoli söi pariloitua lohta kermaviilikastikkeella ja tilliperunoilla. Lohi sinänsä oli maukasta, mutta kastike ei maistunut miltään ja tilliperunoissa oli käytetty pakastetilliä. Kasvikset samoja etikkaisia kuin allekirjoittaneellakin. Yhden drinkin unohtaminen ei nyt sinänsä ole vakavaa, mutta tähän kokonaisuuteen se vain lisäsi pettymystämme ravintolaan, josta olimme saaneet ennen kovin hyviä arvosteluja ja...
