I almost feel like I don't want to write this review as La Galise is such a find. It's a lovely family run holiday in a fantastic location. While on paper only a two star hotel it clearly does better than that and that for a great price. The lovely team is super helpful and the whole place has a very friendly atmosphere. The two star rating is a blessing in disguise as it seems to keep a certain type of holidaymaker away. In the morning you'll have an all-you can eat Continental breakfast to get you started in your day. Don't expect a fancy buffet but local food options, freshly baked pastries, muesli, fruits, homemade cake, an endless supply in good coffee and, last but not least, hot chocolate for the little ones. After breakfast you head down to the locker room to put on your dried and prewarmed ski/snowboard boots, grab your skis out of the locker and walk 50m to the next lift and enjoy a great day skiing. Upon return you can enjoy endless quantities of hot drinks in the lounge for free before heading for a hot shower or a bath. Wrap up in prewarmed towels while getting ready to head out for dinner to one of the countless restaurants in the vicinity. The reception team is super helpful to point you towards some great food options (and in helping you avoid the bad ones). If you just want to stay in, then you can also use the breakfast room to have dinner there. The team is happy to set a table for you. There are good takeout options around (pizza, rotisserie chicken, or freshly made food for reheating at the local Spar). Things you won't have in the hotel are: a bar, a restaurant, a spa or sauna. So if you want luxuries within the hotel, don't come. But if you want a great deal for families to stay and don't mind walking just a few meters to find the luxury options in any of the surrounding hotels or spas for the few times you actually want to go, then La Galise is a fantastic option.

Excellent Hotel in the best location in Val d'Isere centre. Ski lifts are just a couple of minutes walk across the Grand Cocor centre where ski schools meet and when you return the walk to the hotel is just a few metres. 10/10 for convenience! Arriving by car is also easy as there is easy access from the high street. I understand the hotel are happy to arrange guest parking if needed. La Galise has the most friendly and helpful staff who always kindly greet guests and check how they are getting on, they really made our stay a pleasure. Rooms are clean and very well appointed with modern bathroom and very good modern hot showers and great view from balcony. Comfortable beds. Breakfast is a very nice continental style with fresh patisserie and eggs etc. The hotel does not serve evening meals but there are many local restaurants which staff are happy to advise and book for guests. There is also a popular bar below the hotel (Bar Alex)with private hotel guest entrance. It has a number of games tables and also serves light snacks.

You can't really ask for more in a skiing hotel. The staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were clean, the location is virtually unbeatable, and there are some great views of the mountain from the balconies (see photo). My trip was unfortunately brought to an early end, due to an injury, but I'll be returning as soon as I can. The only small things I would improve would be having a lid on the egg cooker at breakfast (to stop the steam accumulating in the room) and turning down the heating in the breakfast area. The fact that these suggested improvements are so minor tells you all you need to know about the quality of the hotel

From the moment we arrived to when we left the staff were faultless! Very professional, attentive, polite and friendly! ||We visited for a ski holiday so spent the majority of the time out on the slopes so the rooms were not a dealbreaker for us. Nevertheless they were cleaned and tidied daily which unexpected but very nice! Plenty of space in the room with all the amenities you could need. ||Breakfast was good with plenty to choose from. Advertised as a buffet style without hot food so we got what we were expecting. Pastries, cereals etc with plenty of drinks to choose from. Perfect for the price we paid.||Another nice surprise was the ski boot/ski storage which was easily accessible. Even more perfect was the location. If you are an avid skier/snowboarder you are only a short 2-5 minute walk from the slopes depending on how excited you are! ||Ultimately a very enjoyable stay for the 7 days were visited. Perfect for the price and to emphasis the staff were faultless and friendly throughout....
