The area was a horrible part of town, full of drug addicts and scary people- I got flashed by some random man on a balcony. The rooms were eerie and gave off a mental hospital vibe, the bathrooms had mould and things stuck to my feet in the shower, if you look inside the drains- you can see dirt and grime from other people due to not cleaning thoroughly, the shower head fell on me multiple times when I tried to keep it in place, there was no soap in the bathroom, no hand towel, and no towel holders, the pillows were incredibly thin, there were blood stains on my duvet, horrible uncomfortable beds, the windows barely opened- one of mine were screwed shut, it was always cold, and they serve disgusting, horrible food- I watched two children vomit, the meat was raw, the spaghetti was too watery, the bread tasted like soap, and the cereal and breakfast menu tastes like cardboard. They say they give several cereal options, but there are only 3 types and they all taste stale and fake. They also don't wash dishes very well at all- there was gum on my tray. Based on our experience, I would not recommend the breakfast as it was below standards: little choice and availability of food. Additionally, one of the oranges was already in an advanced state of decomposing (see pictures). Upon noticing the staff, they did take action. Unfortunately, for one of us it was already too late: he became sick due to the breakfast. This could have been prevented by spending more attention to the breakfast service and providing a fresh supply of (higher quality) food.
Please note that the (mandatory) purchase of a membership card is inappropriate. It 'only' costs €2 but for irregular visitors this feels like a scam/hidden cost as we will never benefit from it. I would recommend to discontinue this card or at least the mandatory purchase.
All together, this could be a fine hostel after a few adjustments. I hope you take this feedback to heart and improve...
