Cent-Cinq in Apt is exceptional in every way. The apartments are beautifully decorated, comfortable, and include everything you could possibly wish or dream of, including updated amenities and appliances. The location is perfect for day trips to wonderful sights, including a trip to the sea (Cassis and environs) but Apt itself is worth wandering around, with the best restaurants and food and retail shops around. Make sure to include Saturday in your itinerary, if possible, to enjoy a fabulous, citywide market!
Jen and Chris are exceptional hosts - answering every question, helping with recommendations, and working with our schedule. We booked both apartments and the 3rd bedroom, so had the lovely internal patio to ourselves and full run of the house, so to speak. We decided one evening just to do bread, cheese, wine and fruit for dinner, and the patio provided a magical space. They anticipated our needs and exceeded expectations every time. For example, when it looked like rain, Jen and Chris put out umbrellas! The Guidebook app is a must on your phone, and was the first I've seen that is so comprehensive. And did I mention that every meal we had at their recommendation was superb?
Things to know: the contactless check-in was easy; parking takes a few trips around the area but then is a breeze; the apartment kitchen has everything a chef would want and there's a shopping basket to go to the store just minutes away on foot (and a bigger store by car). We felt safe walking around the streets after dinner, and loved the friendly feel of this historic town. Remember that all sleeping areas are at least 1 flight of stairs up (Apartment 1) and 2 flights for Apartment 2 and the 3rd bedroom. Bonus WC on a landing, and laundry room off the patio with drying rack available.
If you are hoping to visit Provence - lavender fields, wine, historic abbeys, Aix or small villages, etc., this is a great place to base yourself. Highly recommend and would...
Read moreMy three-week holiday in Apt, Provence, was made exceptional by a beautiful stay in Cent Cinq Apartments. Located in the historic town centre of Apt, it is in the perfect location for exploring the beauty of the Luberon Valley. My apartment (one of two) is a gem, nestled amid the charm of local shops and attractions and within 20 – 40 minutes’ drive of anywhere in the Luberon Valley. One highlight is being completely surrounded by the renowned Saturday morning market just below in the surrounding streets, an absolute treat for anyone who enjoys a bit of shopping and wonderful local produce.
My apartment itself was nothing short of breathtaking. From the spacious living area with its high ceilings, large windows and shutters, comfortable furnishings, generous dining area and well-equipped kitchen, to the bedroom adorned with a luxurious queen-size bed, delicious linen, plus immaculate bathroom, every detail exudes comfort and character. Furthermore, additional features like the family games room, well-equipped laundry and lovely courtyard makes it stand out, ensuring a truly unforgettable stay. Absolutely everything is thought out, well-considered and provided to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay.
What especially set this experience apart for me was the warm and attentive owners who made my stay not just comfortable, but just exceptional, with their friendliness and helpfulness. They are continually enhancing the property, promising even greater appeal in the future. I couldn't recommend this accommodation more highly; it was an absolute delight!
Thank you so much, Jen and Chris, you made my trip to the Luberon...
Read moreBack in Canada now and fondly reflecting on my stay at Cent Cinq. Starts out with a very efficient check in procedure. You load an App to your smartphone. This gives you all the info you need. Check in does not require person to person contact. The 4 digit entry code works for 1 day. Once in you grab your keys to use onwards. That’s it. Parked my rental car for the week and walked to everything I needed. Yes, parking is a 5min walk. But that means no cars in the main parts of town! Pedestrian friendly. Lots of restaurants and food shops. I mostly cooked in the well appointed kitchen. Even has an oven! Love the Roman history of this town. Busy town during the day. Quiet and safe in the evenings. Great market here on market day. Enjoy oysters/wine in one of the plazas! Get to your favourite restaurant earlier on market day. They fill up. Next stay I will bring my bicycle. Dedicated paved bike trail runs through town. It was a train route converted to bike/walk trail. Jen and Chris have secure indoor bike storage at ground level.
Highlights. Food shops. Restaurants. Some of the best bakeries in the Luberon. Ancient walkways. Observing residents go about their day to day activities. This is a town where people live and work year round. Not just a tourist...
