Auberge du Luberon - Rive Droite — Hotel in Apt

While I have no problems with the lovely setting and beautiful décor of this hotel, my stay was ruined by a very rude and obnoxious manager. I did not manage to get his name but he was obviously in charge of the place.||||We were planning to go to Provence again this year but I felt compelled to write this review because the experience last year left a rather bad taste that made me avoid Luberon. ||||Upon checked in, he insisted that we speak French and pretended not to understand what we wanted. He then gave our keys and chose to ignore what we tried to tell him. |||| When my daughter tried to borrow a plate and knife to cut our fruits that we bought from the market, he asked his waitress who had already given to my daughter to take them back. He promptly told her that they do not lend any plates in French. ||||What could have been a pleasant stay in an otherwise lovely hotel was totally destroyed by a manager who does not know that we Asians are not some refugees or charity case. We booked two rooms for 4 of us; not like we were trying to squeeze everyone into one room. Neither did we pay any less than...

I choose this hotel because it had good ratings. In my opinion, it is overrated. Firstly, there is no lift in the hotel and two of my friends who were travelling with big luggages had to carry their bags up two flights of stairs themselves. You are given a password to get into the hotel at check in. Most of the time, the hotel did not have anyone at the reception. Room was also small so if you have a big luggage choose another hotel. We came back around 9pm and wanted to eat in their restaurant but they stopped serving. They recommended a restaurant across the square called restaurant du France and it had horrible food! If I were to stay in Apt again, I would not stay in this hotel nor will I recommend...

This was a great place to stay (we stayed 6 nights) with very friendly and helpful staff. When we requested the use of space in their safe we were provided with a safe and a request to chill some wine saw us provided with a fridge. All clean and neat. The room was of a good size and plenty of space to put things. The fan was sufficient to cool the room down. As a base it was excellent and easy to get out to the many villages in the Luberon. ||Dinner was an exquisite meal but it is important to book.
