Hotel is last on the street before the causeway to Mont St. Michel. You can easely walk there in 30 mins or less or take the shuttle bus that runs until 1130pm. so as far as convenience yes but all the other hotels on that road are convenient as well and hopefully the rooms are much better than here. Room is super small rather dark and dingy. The rugs in the hallway are dirty as well. Our bathroom was super small but at least it was clean. The other room we had the bathroom was much larger. Getting there....you will come to a barrier gate where you need to enter a code in order to continue driving the road where the hotels are located. We were not given a code when we booked the hotel nor were we advised that we would need one. After several attempts to contact the hotel via phone for the code we were unsuccessful as no one answered my daughter and i walked to the hotel in order to obtain the code. The hotel had a sign that we had to go across the street to check in there and thats where we got the code. Parking was across the street no charge but we did have to pay upon exiting the city at the gate with credit card only. it was less than 5 euro for 24hours. breakfast was served at the hotel across the street it was adequate basic continental breakfast coffee was good. I have absolutely no positive thing to say about this hotel, it was very disappointing from the entrance to check in to the room etc. There are other hotels available on this street and i would suggest booking earlier to one of these. Unfortunately we were too late, luckily it was only one night. Hotel needs much improvements especially for the cost. for what you get the rate should be 70 euro or less. ...
Read moreOh my goodness, where to start? The room I stayed in was an annex to the main hotel. Upon arrival I had to check in at the hotel opposite and pick up an access code to the annex. Staff were friendly, my room clean. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end! |It really looks like the management of this hotel is living entirely on the view and everything looks run down and in need of serious modernisation. Carpets, furniture and furnishings are all tatty and stale, windows thick with dirt and look like they haven’t been cleaned in years. The restaurant looks like an inferior motorway service station cafeteria!|As there wasn’t a great deal of choice regarding restaurants in the local area I decided to eat at the hotel. After waiting for a little while I was greeted by an Napoleon-like head waiter wearing tight jeans and sporting an over-hanging stomach! Food was very expensive (unless you opted for the meal deal) and a bottle of cider would set one back €27. Amazing! The same bottle costs £2.70 in supermarkets back home. My snails seemed well cooked (I wouldn’t really know as it’s the first time I’ve tasted them) although my chicken dry and chocolate soufflé overcooked. Service was also extremely slow.|Next day’s breakfast was even worse. Tinned fruit, sloppy scrambled eggs and uncleared tables. No doubt due to a lack of staff.|So mostly negatives with a sprinkling of positives thrown in. Lovely views but when rooms costing between £80-100 per night this is very expensive for what...
Read moreLook elsewhere! This is not the kind of "hotel" where you want your family to stay. Don't fall for the "bay view" scam and don't dare to pay extra for it. There is none from your room. The hotel is perpendicular to the Abbey. The restaurant has the view. We asked and paid extra for a "bay view room" and got a "wall view" literally. The lady at the front end/ check-in was not very helpful, had to ask for the Manager (twice) who tried to help, but not enough (there is no "bay view" and refuse to give us any credit/ excused himself based on total occupancy of the hotel, but we made our reservation well in advance, so there is no reason for what happened because they don't have what they sell). The only good thing of this place is its location. However, keep in mind that there are other hotels in the area with the same good location and transportation to the Abbey. In a future trip we will not stay at this property nor recommend it. There are flies in the reception area and at check in we were not provided with the access code to the building, so you know what happened upon returning late at night. There is no a/c in the rooms, hair drier was not good and beds were not standard size. For its own good, hotels sites should review the hotel offering as you all are deceiving, you are selling something that your supplier can't deliver. Totally...
