An Unforgettable Evening of Laughter and Delight at the Foot of Mont Saint-Michel

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming French fish restaurant nestled right next to the iconic Mont Saint-Michel, and it turned out to be an evening filled with laughter, delicious seafood, and exceptional hospitality.

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the ambiance was warm and inviting, offering a perfect blend of rustic charm and coastal elegance. The view of Mont Saint-Michel in the background added a touch of magic to the entire experience.

My two brothers and I were in for an absolute treat as we embarked on a culinary journey that revolved around the finest seafood. The flavors of the ocean came alive on our plates, each dish a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to showcasing the best of the region's bounty. The standout, of course, was the fresh fish that practically melted in our mouths, leaving a lasting impression of flavor and quality.

What truly set this evening apart was the genuine laughter that echoed throughout the restaurant. My brothers and I shared countless anecdotes and jokes, making it one of the funniest nights we've had in a long time. The lively atmosphere was undoubtedly enhanced by the wonderful staff who seemed to genuinely enjoy their work, contributing to the jovial atmosphere.

Speaking of the staff, a special mention must go to the restaurant manager. Not only did he ensure our evening was filled with merriment, but he went above and beyond by offering to drive us home when he realized we had indulged in some excellent bottles of French champagne and red wine. His thoughtfulness and commitment to our safety were greatly appreciated and left us with a deep sense of gratitude.

In conclusion, my visit to this French fish restaurant near Mont Saint-Michel was an evening to remember. From the delectable seafood and fine wines to the joyous laughter and exceptional hospitality, it was an experience that encapsulated the essence of a perfect night out. If you're looking for a place that combines gourmet seafood, breathtaking views, and the opportunity to create lasting memories, this restaurant should undoubtedly be at the top of your list.

I must also extend a sincere apology for an unfortunate incident. As we made our way home, we realized that we had lost the flaschenöffner (bottle opener) that we had borrowed from the restaurant. It was truly unintentional, and we deeply regret any inconvenience this may...

On our way to Rennes we decided to stop overnight in Mont St Michel. 20 years back we had stayed at the mère Poulard hotel located inside the Mont St Michel but with new requirement to park and take shuttle as well as having big luggage we decided to stay at the relais which is conveniently located across the bay. It was a great choice as the location is breathtaking, overseeing the Mont, especially at sunrise the next morning when the Mont was surrounded by a small fog at its feet creating fairy experience. To access the hotel by car you need to follow the sign for bus and parking for disabled people. Do not use Waze or Google map as they will send you to the wrong place. You also need to call the hotel less than 24 hours prior your arrival to get the gate’s access code. There is a shuttle stop right across the hotel entrance, making it easy to visit the mont. Our room was the superior double room with mt st m view. Both the hotel public area and our room have shown better time. It is a bit sad as there is a lot of potential. The pluses: perfect location. Amazing view. Easy access to shuttle. Good coffee maker. The minuses: The hotel has no charm whatsoever. Everything looks Dated and not well kept with some Moldy grouts and broken tiles in bathroom Breakfast was included in the room price. Buffet style. Mostly cold options aside scrambled eggs. Service was good and people were nice both at lobby and restaurant. All in all we enjoyed our stay for one day but wouldn’t stay any longer.

Restaurant ——————-

We ate at the hotel’s restaurant for dinner. There is a huge bay of windows overlooking the mont. However at night the village and Abhay are not light up so we could not enjoy much of the view. Could have been because it is winter and they light it up during tourist season. There was couple menu options. We picked the one at 29.99 but there is another cheaper option at 19.99. Service went smoothly with efficiency. We took a bottle of croze hermitage wine which was good. Food was ok but not great: fish soup and lamb or veal which was tough. My wife took the omelet prepared following mère Poulard recipe which was good. For dessert i took the sorbet and my wife the apple tart which were both good. Restaurant looked dated right off the seventies, room felt very much like a business meeting hall which lacked charm. It is sad as there is a lot of potential to make it a much...

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night in August 2023.|One notices a structure that was once supposed to be of a high standard.|The view from the room over Le Mont Saint Michel was very nice, although partially obstructed by some trees. Other rooms adjacent to ours had the view completely obstructed by these trees.|The rooms had no air conditioning.|The room was cosy, clean and tidy and the bathroom large and functional.|The balcony of the room, overlooking le mont saint michel, was large and equipped with two comfortable armchairs.|On our return from Le Mont Saint Michel, at 10.14 p.m. we went to the hotel bar, where there were two attendants, and asked for two beers, which we were denied by being told that service hours were over. We had to insist quite a bit with the manager and in the end, saying that we would take them to our room, we managed to get the two beers served: three minutes of discussion and about 1 minute to serve the two beers.|Breakfast the next morning was definitely not up to the standards of a hotel of this category: the scrambled egg and bacon containers only had a spoon for serving both (the classic tongs or, at most, a fork were missing), the result was a container of bacon soiled with scrambled egg (decidedly uninviting). Both coffee machines had run out of milk: impossible to serve a cappuccino. I pointed out the problem to the only attendant in the entire restaurant, but he was unable to add milk. Result, only coffee and no milk.|The view of Le Mont Saint Michel from the restaurant's windows would be breathtaking, were it not for the fact that the windows are not well cleaned and the effect is ruined.|The car park is ample, but beware that it is not lit at all and if you have to go to your car in the evening, you have to equip yourself with a phone torch because otherwise you will be in total darkness.|This is objectively...

This hotel is amazing for the value. We have a beautiful view of the Mont. As a family with 3 children including a toddler, I loved the setup of the family room with the two floors and the many doors to keep quiet areas for the baby to go to sleep. The children had their own space and we could close the door to the master room. The beds are extremely comfortable. The restaurant is a bit expensive and lacks options for children, not that I want “fries and nuggets” for the kids but since each entree is a bit pricey, it’s hard to choose something affordable and with the right portion for the children, but our kids are young enough to still split an adult entree so that’s what we did. I did notice however, that we are visiting in February, so temperature-wise we are comfortable but I couldn’t imagine choosing this hotel in the summer time. There is no way to ventilate the family room other than opening the sliding doors to the balcony and when we did to look at our view, in February weather, a mosquito or two came in. Which sounds normal for being close to the bay, I suppose. The upstairs bedroom window seemed to be fixed, so I would imagine in a hot summer the room upstairs would be extremely hot and you’d have to let a lot more mosquitoes and flies in to get some fresh air. I guess you can wait long enough in the evening for insect activity to slow down. But in extreme temperatures how we’ve had in recent summers that sounds difficult. So that’s something to consider in the summer. The staff has been extremely warm and kind in the hotel and restaurant. And there’s plenty of parking and an elevator. We will definitely return.

Not sure if there is a misunderstanding between the waiter at the restaurant and myself. I traveled alone for mont st Michel and stayed one night at the hotel. Around dinner time, I finally got to the restaurant n was waiting to be seated. This male waiter in his 50-60s saw me there and kinda ignored me at first. he looked busy so I didn’t mind waiting. Some time later he finally had time to greet me… I asked if he speaks English (in French) ( at least I tired to be polite instead of speaking English first) he says no! I mean who will stand there And not for food? He knows I wanted to be seated. He just replied no sorry no. And walked away. I said to him in English “I just want to eat, is it open?” He said no English. I went straight to the front desk and the front desk man took me back and said something in French to the waiter and I can see he was not being friendly to me . I traveled alone and not sure why I felt being discriminated by him. I asked the front desk man if there was a reason why the waiter didn’t want to let me in for dinner. The front desk man had a weird smile and said “ oh he doesn’t speak English” I know it’s not true because he did take my order in English afterwards!!!!!!!!!plus there are a ton of English speakers that might! Plus who would go there and ask questions if it’s not for food! The hotel is dated but the location is fantastic. I just didn’t have a great experience at the diner.
