OVERALL: Firstly, the venue is breathtaking— exuding a classic French elegance. We utilized all the areas of the Chateau as we had different ceremonies / celebrations. We can attest that any area you choose would provide the perfect backdrop for your special day.

The team at Chateau Gassies was absolutely incredible. Geraldine and her husband (Ben) made sure that we were taken care of from start to finish. When our wedding planner (from Pétillante Weddings - more on them below) announced to us (as we were about to walk out to greet our guests for our 1st event - welcome dinner) that "the food truck didn't show up!" with no plan set in place, it was Geraldine and Ben (+SAVARY Traiteur) who stepped up. They rolled up their sleeves and helped to cook and feed our party of ~80 guests. Initially, I was a bride attempting to plan a wedding abroad on my own and Geraldine, who is incredibly organized and attentive, helped us with each and every question and even to manage last-minute requests. The staff on the day of the wedding were incredibly professional and friendly. The food was also a huge highlight + even now when we are altogether our friends/family still reminisce - shoutout to SAVARY Traiteur! We received so many compliments from our guests about the venue. It truly created the atmosphere we were hoping for and helped to make the day feel like a fairytale. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding. We highly recommend Chateau Gassies to anyone looking for a stunning location and exceptional service for their big day. Thank you for making our wedding day unforgettable!

We were deeply dissatisfied with the services received by Pétillante Weddings. Despite initial discussions about our vision for the wedding, and spending hours reviewing details (including for our timeline down to the minute) our wedding weekend was utterly chaotic. The timeline was completely off track and many of the details we agreed on were either completely ignored or poorly executed. I (as the bride) had to step in multiple times on my wedding day to manage things myself. It was a far cry from what I had expected to be doing on such an important day. My husband and I felt that the price did not match the level of service by a large margin. We expected professionalism and attention to detail. Instead, we ended up with lots of stress and frustration on what should have been the happiest day of our lives. I would not recommend this planner to anyone looking for a reliable, professional...

I cannot recommend Chateau Gassies enough. This venue really understands luxury, comfort, service, and above-all breathtaking spaces . A unique find that has tons of French charm with gorgeous landscapes, as well as modern amenities like air conditioning, updated bathrooms, tennis court, and two striking pool areas. This is one of the few venues we found where the lodging is well-suited to couples with many separate rooms and bathrooms - not just dormitory-style spaces. We were impressed by every area we encountered and it was so nice having grills as well as beautiful kitchens in the gites during our extended stay.

We booked the full chateau for 5 nights, including having a rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, day-after brunch, and wine tasting event. Throughout the months leading up to the wedding, Geraldine (the owner) was incredibly helpful - would answer all of my extremely detailed questions. Throughout the visit, Geraldine and her staff went above and beyond - helping direct our ceremony, keeping coffee flowing for many hours during breakfast, welcoming vendors so we did not have to, even helping my friend scrub a shirt that got wine spilled on it. I saw 1 review mention a lack of flexibility on behalf of the owners; however, we did not feel this in our stay. We felt they were extremely reasonable in accommodating where they could and were always extremely transparent about what was and was not included in our stay at all points in working with them (and were open about why - for instance, certain French regulations for the neighborhood). Geraldine's eye for detail keeps every piece of the chateau in immaculate standing for guests.

The multiple spaces on the venue were a huge plus for us - we were able to host events to take advantage of each view. It also means that the venue had high-quality, natural options for hosting cocktail hour and a ceremony if it rains. The areas are fully covered but still outside to take advantage of the landscape without needing to have a tent which was not our style.

As a bonus - the massages at the spa on site were honestly some of the best myself and my guests have had at any 5 star resort!

We had the great pleasure of hosting our wedding festivities at Château Gassies over three days in June 2025.

The château and grounds have been beautifully renovated and are impeccably maintained. It is clear that a lot of thought has been given to the guest experience. The cleaning crew deserves a huge shout-out for the very high level of cleanliness over such extensive buildings, and the grounds-keeping team for the orderly lawns and gardens. We also loved the shady groves of old trees, especially the oak grove where we held our cocktail.

The team at Gassies is exceptionally friendly, helpful, and organized. Géraldine is the epitome of calm class, handling any situation with aplomb and bringing a wonderful sense of humor to what can be a stressful time. We worked with a great wedding planner (Nicole at Pétillante Weddings) who handled a lot of the communications in the lead-up to the wedding, but any direct exchanges with the Gassies team were efficient and organized.

The amenities were very appreciated -- the pool was in constant use by our friends and family, we had several basketball games, and the kids loved the playground. Baby cribs, irons and steamers, extra tables and chairs, the video projector and screen -- all these little thoughtful touches made the days easier and added joy and fun to our events.

The location could not be more ideal -- after dragging our friends and family across continents and oceans for our wedding, everyone appreciated that the wedding events were just a quick 15-20 minute drive from central Bordeaux. This gave everyone more flexibility on plans and hotels. We were also able to easily (and relatively cheaply) organize shuttle transfers back and forth from town. Despite being close to town, once you are at Gassies you really feel like you're in the countryside.
