Highlights:
Newly refurbished resort. Incredible customer service, they can’t do enough for you. The rooms were serviced to a high standard, we never had to wait at the bar for more than a couple of minutes, the staff on the reception desk were incredibly helpful getting us high chairs from the restaurant to feed our little girl in the bar. Our baby was sick in our room and the team were incredible in coming and cleaning it all up for us. Really excellent customer service. The general manager was really visible, present and available to feed back to. He was even there at 5am on departure day making sure we got our transfer. The cleanliness was impeccable, the common areas are constantly being cleaned/hoovered. Ski in and ski out location - the snow was a bit slushy lower down so we started to get the chairlift back down and jumping on the club med shuttle bus which was frequent and only a 5 mins drive from the resort The food was buffet but excellent choice and quality. There was a night in the a la carte restaurant included in the all inclusive package which was good as well. There was always a plentiful range of snacks & food available in the bar, in the afternoon after skiing and before going up to dinner. The ski hire, boot room/locker set up was all seamless and worked really well. All in the hotel making it so convenient and easy. The hotel rooms were sound proofed, we never heard a single noise from any other room which was incredible when you are in a family resort with children everywhere. We booked a place in the nursery for our 13 month old - coco and the team were incredible. Their communication throughout the day was amazing and their care for our daughter was really excellent. Our daughter was seen by a doctor on site before going into nursery, to make sure she was well and not sick. This is great and gives you peace of mind that all babies are healthy in the nursery. We were in a superior room, which meant it had a living space where the cot was set up and black out curtains you could draw to seperate it from the main bed. It meant you were in the same room as your baby but they were in a blacked out separate compartment which worked really well.
Areas of improvement:
Because it’s all inclusive the team miss out on tips, the hotel need to set up a system where you can tip at the end of your stay and it gets split between everyone. The temperature of the swimming pool. Especially the baby pool, after 25 mins we had to get our 13 months old out as she was too cold. I fed back to the manager and I believe he will now look to address this. It would have been nice to have a wider choice of wine included in the all inclusive package. There was only 1, white, rose and red. All then the others were an additional charge. However, there was a great range of cocktails and spirits included in the package. We rented a sledge from the town, it would have been good to have these available to use at the hotel. In the superior bedrooms, having the living room closest to the balcony and the double bed closet to the bathroom - so swapping them around. Then if the baby is asleep in the cot in the living room, you don't keep having to walk past them to go to the bathroom! You can draw the curtains and not...

Read moreHi. Wanted to share with you my experience at Club Med Serre-Chevalier.
Stuff. Stuff is very very kind, helpful and really lovely.
Room cleaning. I stayed with a few friends in Club-Med,we had 3 rooms. We have noticed that the bed sheets were the same for the all week that we have stayed. They were only organized as new ones but not changed.
Rooms. Bathroom is very simple nothing fancy with a simple nylon sheet shower. Simple room, simple beds. Simple and uncomfortable pillow. No floor heating, only two batteries. The room is dusty, everything is old except the LCD tv.
Food. There is a big variety, but really after a full week here I can say that nothing is tasty. It’s simple food that almost all the time is cooked badly without any experience.
Ski/Snowboard renting (in Club Med). Most of the equipment is pretty old. We came to rent a couple of Snowboards and they were out of stock. Renting in Club Med for 6 days is 210€ but in the city (SkiSet) you can get it around 120-150€.
The hotel itself. So here is the bad part. The hotel is stuck in the 80/90’s. Everything is very old, dusty and dirty. The hotel should have a renovation years and years ago. If the price was lower than other French resorts it was ok,but you are paying here full price and get and old dusty gas station motel. Really 1 start and not more. Another important point is that it’s a young family’s hotel so a lot of small kids running around.
Serre Chevalier site. So once again not that good. Elevators are old and slow,no seats in the Gondola. 2/3 seat elevators are very dangerous coming fast to loading area and hit you pretty hard. A few slopes get an incline in the middle of the slope,if you are not familiar with this slope you won’t have enough speed and you will stop and have to walk. Restaurants on the slopes don’t have waiters, food is bad, paid for a meal with soup and water 33€. If it was a cheap place (hotel, ski pass, equipment rent (150+€) it was ok but it’s a bad one and the prices are extremely high. Really guys save your money and go to a better place. In addition now 17/1/19 snow is in bad condition very icy and looks like no snow any time soon.
The city nearby is dead,no people only a few open business (supermarket, pharmacy) Really sad,no ski resort felling.
For conclusion if you are planing a vocation without kids and want to enjoy please save your money and go...
