SC is the name of the valley which contains (at least) four villages with one ski system connecting them all. The lifts have a high capacity and the system is large so you hardly spend any time in line. There are several restaurants spread across the system. The quality varies depending on the owners as you'd expect.

The slopes are well prepared, and even after several weeks of no snow they're still not icy (but hard). If you're lucky enough to be here when it snows you'll have easy and safe access to powder even without a guide.

The slopes are mostly red, with a lot of blue and some blacks. As a parent I wouldn't recommend it if your kids are younger than 6 or 7, but unless you are a complete beginner* you'll love it.

Beginners will find good skiing here as well, it's just that a lot of what makes SC great is not something...

To be honest we have been quite disappointed. Many lifts stop working several times per day. The map and structure of the slopes is quite messy, so when the day was over we had to comes back to another village, there was no easy way to come back to ours though the blue slopes. Some parts on the blue slopes are quite sharp and narrow, there are also parts with many hills. Also, regarding the ski passes, there are different types of them, and description is not full on the web. For example, the 3 hours ski pass is 38 eur on the web, but when we tried to buy it at the office, they said it's just for one part of the mountain which wasn't mentioned on the web. The main advantage vs Switzerland is the food, because the prices for ski passes prices are almost the same, and the slopes and the lifts are in...

We bought 6-day-tickets and 4 days out of 6 had bad conditions: on the 30th and 31th of January half of the skilifts were closed because of the "strong wind"; on the 1st and 2nd of February we had "even stronger wind", therefore all of the skilifts were closed (they claimed wind days). Also we stayed in Briancon and due to the closed skilifts we had to use the skibuses that were very crowded and had to wait a long time to be able to get on.

The operators of the ski area are completely incorrect. They did not give...

Wonderful place to go for winter sports! If the weather is good then you can take the télésiège to the top of Serre Chevalier where you can get some amazing pictures. However if the weather is bad, there are many local activities to take part in. In terms of restaurants, there is a large selection of local restaurants from pizzarias to crêperies. At the bottom of the Villeneuve slope there is also an amazing Après-ski restaurant with kind staff members who tell funny jokes! 5 stars from me. Joyeux 80 ans !

Absolutely stunning resort with far reaching slopes. In a week of skiing you still haven't seen all slopes and there are a lot of ways to spend your time. Freeride tracks next to the slopes, paragliding, muggels and race tracks make it the perfect resort for ambitious skiiers and snowboarders. Also there are some easily climbable peaks all over the area with amazing views. Even though it was very warm, the snow fas fine (due to the altitude) and restaurants and bbq areas give good vibes for the breaks

Sadly trading on past glories. Ski area itself has huge potential but desperately needs improving to bring me back. Tired infrastructure and too many old lifts, that were so slow! Too many button drags and chairlifts that bash your calves unlike the modern ones in other areas which decouple the chair for a gentler experience. Yet the place was so overcrowded, with long queues at pinch points. Why is that income not showing in full re-investment?
