I hesitate to mention this, but feel it’s important to be honest: as an Asian guest, I did notice a noticeable difference in the level of enthusiasm and warmth compared to how some white participants were treated. I can’t say for sure if this was due to unconscious bias or cultural misunderstanding, but it left me feeling quite isolated.
I hope this isn’t the experience for everyone — but I believe it’s important to share mine.
I spent a great deal of time, money, and energy to attend this ski training camp, giving up other beautiful destinations and potentially more enjoyable experiences — so my expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be disappointing in several key ways.
If you’re not looking for a relaxing vacation and don’t mind a strict, almost military-style schedule with minimal warmth or hospitality, this place might still suit you.
While my instructor wasn’t completely inattentive and did offer some basic feedback, the overall teaching was insufficient. Nobody pointed out that my skiing posture was incorrect — even when I actively initiated conversations with my coach about how to improve. His only response was vague advice like “feel it with your body,” rather than concrete or actionable guidance.
Eventually, this lack of technical instruction led to an ankle injury after several days of using the wrong technique.
The attitude toward injury and physical pain throughout the entire ski camp was surprisingly dismissive. Even after I informed multiple staff members of my condition, there was no real concern, support, or advice. It seemed that no one genuinely cared about our physical well-being — or whether we were actually enjoying our vacation here.
More than half of the staff lacked friendliness, enthusiasm, or patience. I was asked to return items I hadn’t even used, and when I tried to explain, I was told “it doesn’t matter.” When I complied, I was still met with cold stares and rude behavior. Around half of the staff lacked friendliness, enthusiasm, or patience.
Despite having purchased cancellation insurance, no one informed me how to activate it when I was injured, and I ended up paying full price for the remaining lessons I couldn’t attend.
When I was late to a group session (because it was painful and slow to put on ski boots with my injury), a staff member scolded me and said, “You won’t make it to Friday like this,” with no empathy at all.
Overall, this place may be acceptable for highly independent, physically tough individuals who are only here to train — but it’s far from ideal for those seeking a warm, supportive, or flexible ski...

This is my first UCPA experience and I wish I joined it earlier! Lovin' it ;)
The atmosphere is super good, I'm lucky that my 3 roommates are all very nice French girls and one of them speak very good English. There are activities organized by UCPA every evening, you'll not be bored or lonely
The coaches are friendly, and fun, and professional, and caring I had 3 different coaches and they are all nice ( snow board, Ski du fond, then Raquette and Ski Alpin). I enrolled in Mix activities beginner course, and the manager was very nice to change my first day to snow board.
The food is buffet for 3 meals a day, with plenty of fruits and dessert and cheese and fresh salad.... and you have lots of diversities.... awww I must gained lots of weight!
The room doesn't offer towel, or any toiletries.... so remember to bring everythin改~ and don't forget your swimming suit, since there is a swimming pool in the building, and the famous Les Grande Bain nearby. I forgot mine and had to buy one in InterSport.
Btw the Centre Commerciale is very near, like 3-4 min walking only. So the UCPA location is really good. Close to TeleSki station too.
The Grande Bain is a must-go after skiing, watching the sunset view in hot spring is just perfect~!
Some rooms do not have wifi but it's not a big problem. The wifi signal near reception...
