Campasun Camping international Aups - Gorges du Verdon (actuellement fermé) — Hotel in Brignoles

Our first time at Camping International but it will not be our last. Situated in picture-perfect Provence countryside and 10 mins walk from pretty old Aups town centre, this place has bags of charm and warmth from Pierre and his family. We decided to camp in our our family tent for the duration, and we were given a really spacious plot in a shaded area so we didn’t get the full oven/tent treatment (although while we were there it was excessively hot in the region, reaching 40C at one stage…pretty steamy inside a tent!). There were plenty of cabins available to rent and we’ll definitely consider doing this in future, if only for the convenience of having a fridge and a proper dining table.||||The campsite is quite large but easy to navigate, and crucially it’s peaceful all throughout the day and night, except for a pretty regular 3am dog barking session followed by a dawn chorus of cock-a-doodle-dos every day. Just remember you’re in the countryside and you must accept these things!||||The wash facilities are rustic but spotlessly clean. I bumped into the cleaner every morning and he takes a lot of pride in his work. Take your own loo roll, standard. The swimming pool is huge but be warned - it’s freezing cold! They could also do with a bit more shade around the pool area but only crazy Brits would hit the pool in early afternoon sun, so if you fall into this category then don’t forget to pack the factor 50.||||The standard of food at the on-site restaurant is very high and also really reasonable compared to other places in the town (we also recommend Auberge in Aups for a great dinner in a gorgeous little cloister). Proper home made pizza is exceptional, and the creme brûlée is to die for. Ask for a chilled bottle of red (Pierre’s recommendation), perfect after a hot day.||||We stayed at several places during our French adventure and Camping International is the place we miss the most. Mon emplacement de tente était inondé d'eau quand je suis arrivé et il a fallu me battre pour obtenir un emplacement mieux situé (alors qu'il y en avait plein de libres). De plus, ils devaient me rappeler pour me rembourser une commande de pains et ils ne l'ont jamais fait. Le wifi ne va pas jusqu'au fond du camping par ailleurs. Dommage qu'ils ne soient pas plus "geste commercial" car l'équipe était plutôt sympathique... Ajout du 23 juillet 2023 : Je prend connaissance de votre retour sur mon avis initial ci-dessus. Retour assez habile faisant croire que mes quelques critiques n'étaient pas vraiment fondées. Bravo, c'est bien tenté. Je ne vais pas plus m'attarder car mon but n'est pas de vous faire une si mauvaise pub. 1 - Je maintiens donc qu'il n'était pas venu rapidement et naturellement au personnel lors de mon arrivée de me proposer un emplacement non-inondé, il a fallu que je demande et insiste, ce que je trouve dommage puisqu'il y en avait plein de libres. A la fin le personnel m'a en effet proposé de choisir et c'était très bien...ma remarque concernait le temps passé pour que cela se fasse, manque de spontanéité et de rapidité dans le service aux clients c'est tout, ce n'est pas non plus dramatique, c'est à améliorer c'est tout. 2 - Quand à l'appel téléphonique que le camping devait me passer je l'attends toujours, mais bon passons car il s'agissait peut-être de 5 ou 10 euro que vous me deviez, j'ai fait une croix dessus vous vous en doutez depuis le temps.... 3 - Le wifi qui passait en effet bien comme vous aimez à le mentionner sur mon emplacement, n'était pas disponible au bout du camping dans les bungalows loués par mes amis : cette remarque n'est donc pas pour moi mais pour mes amis qui avaient loué ces bungalows et n'ont pas pris le temps d'écrire un commentaire. 4 - Je me permet de rajouter une remarque ou plutôt une suggestion d'amélioration sur vos emplacements de tente qui étaient inondés (par temps de forte pluie j'en conviens). A moins qu'ils ne soient réservés à des camping cars ou à des vans, je ne comprends quand même pas pourquoi ces emplacements existent puisque les fortes pluies, ça arrive même si c'est pas tous les jours ! Système d'écoulement à améliorer ? Emplacements à condamner/transformer ?...peut-être à réfléchir... Conclusion : encore une fois je n'ai pas mis 0 étoiles et mon séjour était loin d'être catastrophique, et le personnel était sympathique. Donc essayons d'être honnêtes et de relativiser les choses. De mon côté j'ai peut-être exagéré en mettant 2 étoiles sur 5, j'aurais bien corrigé en en mettant 3 mais votre retour de politicien habilement tourné me convainc de n'en laisser que 2 pour...

Super camping! Alles netjes en ideale ligging. Lac du Saint Croix op 20 minuten, het dorp Aups 5 minuten lopen en de middenlandse zee binnen een uur. Vriendelijk personeel. Voorgaande review van 'familie familie' vind ik nogal ongenuanceerd;

Juli 2015, 2 weken deze camping gereserveerd. Wat feiten op een rij: de helft van de Nederlandse vakantiegangers laten hun honden gewoon los. -- Deze ervaring deel ik niet, geen enkele loslopende hond gezien.

er is 2 x per week een feestavond die tot ca. 02:00 uur duurt -- Feestavonden zijn er inderdaad. Tijdens ons verblijf 1x per week tot een uur of 12.

wifi reikt maar tot het toiletgebouw bij het zwembad, alle plaatsen daarachter hebben geen wifi -- Klopt. Voor mij geen bezwaar, ik ben immers op vakantie

de toiletgebouwen hebben geen dakgoten, bij een regenbui is alles kletsnat -- Het regent er hoogstens eens in de twee weken, lijkt me wat overbodig.

het zwembad is te klein en te druk, er zit ook te weinig chloor in, ik heb er een oorontsteking van gekregen -- Na 2 weken rondzwemmen heb ik nergens last van gehad. Vervelend van de oorontsteking, maar of dat door de kwaliteit van het zwembadwater komt? Ik heb iedere dag iemand een uur bezig gezien om het bad te onderhouden. Het is inderdaad geen subtropisch zwemparadijs, maar daar is het de camping ook niet voor.

er was een bosbrand in de buurt die door 6 blusvliegtuigen geblust moest worden -- Wat wilt u hiermee zeggen? Heel vervelend, maar neem aan dat u toch liever heeft dat ze geblust worden dan dat uw caravan/tent wegbrand.

de eigenaar (die alleen maar frans kan spreken) maakt fouten bij de eindafrekening: telt wifi per dag, terwijl we voor 2 weken aangegeven hebben en vergeet bewust de borg voor de slagboomsleutel (let hier op!) -- Nogal een aantijging. Bij ons is de eindafrekening prima verlopen.

de zoon kent maar een paar woorden engels -- Wat heeft dat te maken met de review van een camping?

bejaarde caravanbezitters laten hun caravan achter op de camping en komen nooit ergens anders (zij zullen deze feiten natuurlijk weerleggen) -- Is dit een probleem? (nee ik ben niet bejaard)

we bleven voor het zonnige weer, gemiddeld 32 graden -- Prachtig weer!

hierna vertrokken we voor 2 weken naar camping le Botanic in Fabrègues, deze was 10 x beter (en schoner) en bijna de helft van de prijs van cp International, daar komen we wel zeker nog eens terug. -- Goede tip,...
