Quaint location, main attraction seems to be their restaurant. We stayed at the hotel but found out in the evening that they were fully booked for dinner so we ate elsewhere. The reception should have advised if dinner was available at the time of our check-in so we could have planned where to eat just like they asked if we wanted breakfast in the morning. A little more attention was expected as we were hotel guests. However we did find an alternative place to eat in another garden. The hotel room was simple but acceptable, it had that French provincial charm and decadent savour that you often find in the Provence area. There is a nice church next door so expect wakeup bells! The breakfast was very good although we seemed to have missed the fresh croissants but had warm baguettes. We parked our car in a free parking area at about 300 mt from the hotel. Mondays seem to be closing day for most activities in the town.

It looks very appealing from the outside, and the staff is friendly. That being said, if you enjoy taking your time when dining out, do not go to this restaurant. Once you're inside, you're a number, and they want your table to be available for the next customers ASAP. Within the first 5 minutes that we sat down on our chairs, several waiters had already come by to ask if we'd made any choice yet. When we ordered, the food arrived so quickly, that you'd almost assume it's pre-made. After main course, we asked for the dessert menu, and once again waiters had come by at least 2 times in under 3 minutes to ask if we had decided yet. Within 50 minutes we were outside again. It looks like a nice restaurant, but it left a feeling as if it were a fast-food restaurant.

We stayed here in 2019 and wanted to return as soon as possible post Covid. Set in the centre of Aups in the most beautiful countryside this is a great hotel. The evidence of how good the food is, is the fully booked garden restaurant. The rooms are simple, clean, perfect and spotlessly clean. The team working here are so friendly and professional. We will stay again and highly recommend this charming Auberge.

If you are in Aups on Saturday morning you must go to the lovely market right outside the hotel. So convenient to get some delicious cheeses, sausage, olives, fresh fruits and vegetables to try from the market. We also walked around the charming medieval town which is not crowded and the people are so friendly. For shopping, the summer clothes selection at Toucan Creations next to the Fromentine et Sarrazin creperie are lovely, the owner Valerie speaks fluent English. We enjoyed our dinner at the L Alguiere round the corner of the shop. ||At the hotel, we were welcomed during check in by Cindy who was very helpful and friendly. All the staff there are nice. ||The room is simple and clean. The bathroom is outdated. Shower is small. The water for shower is lukewarm. The internet connection didn’t connect for us almost all the time and definitely not from the room. The room faces the restaurant so you can hear the dining activities till the service is over. There is no air-conditioning so you open the window for ventilation. It is cheaper than other hotels so it is a good choice if you wish to be next to the market and walking distance to the restaurants. There is a large parking lot in front of the hotel but you cannot park there on Saturday when the market is operating. Please drop your luggage at the hotel first and then go to find parking beside the children’s playground further away. There is no lift so you need to carry your luggage up the stairs...

We had seen this restaurant packed the night before so booked a table for the next day after reading what seemed to be a very promising menu. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. The special angus steak was sold out by 19.30, the pesto was NOT pesto. If you’re expecting pesto, ie the real Italian version then forget it. This is a tomato and basil sauce with a few pine nuts thrown in. Pizza was not brilliant, even my teenage son had trouble finishing it and he will eat anything as most boys do. The porc with cepes was ok but did not really taste of much and was dry. The beef check was soft and nice but the rest of the dish was bland and swimming in water. The starter of foie gras is overpriced and seemed perfumed with cinnamon which did spoil the dish if you don’t like cinnamon. I did ask for a small dish of pasta with pesto on the side for my daughter, age 10, and was told fairly rudely by the waitress that this may not be possible. After insisting and asking how complicated could it be and how pesto can vary, she promptly put me back in my place and said she was not scared of us rating her pesto....
