Wonderful B&B ||||We were moved from the rooms we had initially booked into the "Fragonard" suite. Everything, but everything was superb. ||||The suite was extremely comfortable with two bedrooms. There is a separate wc and a bathroom with an excellent shower and bath. The whole B&B is beautifully decorated. It is one of the places where the photos on the website just don't do it justice. There are some amazing touches - the light in the shower head which changes colour; the motion sensitive lights in the loos; the rippling water over the pebbles in the pool; the vases and other objets d'art, the paintings etc. etc. ||||Inside there are spacious sitting and dining rooms downstairs. All equally comfortable. ||||It was a warm day - 32C but the rooms were amazingly cool and we slept really well. A slight concern was the adjacent church - the bells rang until quite late and had started up when we were having our breakfast. But there was a corridor between the bedroom and the window (kept shut) overlooking the church and I wasn't troubled at all by the bells. ||||Towels, dressing gowns, shower gels and soaps all were absolutely top quality. The wifi worked well. The only thing I felt missing was BBC (or any English language channels). ||||The courtyard, where we had breakfast, is absolutely lovely. The breakfast itself was superb. Excellent coffee, fresh apple and orange juice, nice yoghurt, cheeses, cold meat, fresh fruit, dates, home-made jams and preserve, the breakfast croissants and bread were wonderful. ||||If I wax lyrical its because it was really one of the nicest overnight stays we've ever had. Charolles is such a pretty village, the restaurants are good, its a great base for touring, next time we will stay for...
Read moreas usual, each time we travel south, we make this stop in Charolles, to enjoy the place, the warm welcome of Jean-Luc and Pascal, spacious rooms (we stayed in all of them). good taste in decorating, huge beds, tv, wifi, nice french breakfast with freshly squeezed juice, all kinds of bio homemade jam, honey, youghurt, croissants and especially Goat cheese from their own farm.(order them to take home, it's worth it!!) and even though they don't serve dinner, you know where to go...not far!! just next door! for us it's a pleasant stop on the way home or going south..never dissapointed, and Jean-Luc's humour adds that little 'extra' ;-)...see you...
Read moreOur stay was organised at short notice and intended only as a stopover on the way home from the South. Little did we know - this place is worth staying for a holiday! lovely quiet town with exceptional food. ||The B&B is more a boutique hotel really, charming & sympathetically restored building, huge suite, comfortable beds, fountain in the courtyard as good night music, great shower and excellent breakfast. ||The hosts are delightful. Whichever request we produced (in terrible French) they had already anticipated and went out of their way to accommodate.||Perfect truly. Much looking...
