Hôtel le Clos — Hotel in Gap

We arrived at the hotel early morning without a reservation due to our car having broken down but we were immediately given a choice of rooms and checked in for one night in anticipation of our car being back on the road the following day. As with all Logis hotels the room was very clean, the bathroom newly refurbished although small. English is spoken for travellers with no French. It was a short walk into the historic town centre and there is plenty of parking and a large garden. When we had to check back in for a second night we were cheerfully accomodated again. We had two evening meals and one lunch in the restaurant and the food was excellent value and quality. Their 4 course menu for 26 euros included a sumptuous board of local cheeses and a good choice for each course. Breakfast was a good self service buffet style with a kettle for those who want to make a good fresh cup of breakfast tea.||This is a good choice of a reasonable price hotel for anyone wanting a stopover in a pleasant town either for families, couples or single travellers as it is used by many business people who...

Old -fashioned French logi, trying to be classick, nothing has happened here for many years when it comes to renovation (except for the bathroom). The grounds and garden around the hotel was very nice and quiet. We were here outside the season, only 3 rooms were taken, still we got a small room on the backside with no balcony. The bathroom was new and very good. We only had breakfast, which was ordinary and good, the restaurant is known to have good food.||The staff was perhaps busy, not much talking or help.||||It was so quiet (outside the season), that it was almost creepy at night. The road from the main road to the hotel was completely dark/black, we had to pull out a mobilphone and put on it's light to find the way to the entrance.
