I never leave reviews but our stay here was so disappointing, I feel compelled to do so.||The rooms are small (our room was smaller than described), impractical (there was a telephone directly over one side of the bed, so you would bang your head if you sat up in the night), and very basic. There was a large patch of mold on the ceiling and the room was so small, the bedroom door wouldn’t actually shut as it was blocked by the bed. The rooms were noisy (NOT soundproofed!) you could clearly hear people walking in their rooms above, in the corridor, banging doors etc. ||We changed rooms and although bigger, the second room was still disappointing.||||The wifi in the rooms is completely unreliable and not stable. ||||They have tried to make the public areas look “Santorini chic” but it is a case of fur coat and no knickers. Although the public areas look superficially ok, if slightly amateurishly designed, the actual reality of it is awful. The pool area is tiny and there are not enough sunbeds. The hotel is situated at the end of a residential cul-de-sac and overlooked by other properties and on the day we arrived, the neighbours were having a very noisy pool party and were yelling/singing for hours- not a relaxing holiday atmosphere. ||||The staff are unprofessional. Although there is a bar, one must locate a member of staff from wherever they are in the hotel to get a drink and there is a general vibe of them being too busy with other things. The bar closes early, in fact one evening there was sign up saying the owner had gone out and the bar would be closed even earlier. There is no mini bar or fridge in the room, so if you would like a drink when you come back to your room in the evening, this is pretty much impossible. ||||The staff are not always present and one member of staff particularly has a harried air and is difficult to deal with. ||||Quite shockingly, none of the members of staff wore masks (even while serving breakfast) and social distancing didn't seem to be observed.|||| We chose to vacate early. Upon our departure the lady owner promised to contact us and refund us for nights that she managed to resell. It has now been several weeks and despite trying to get in contact with her, she has actively avoided us. ||||I would describe this property as a B&B or hostel. We have travelled extensively and this does not meet my expectations of a hotel. It is incredibly overpriced for what is essentially a poor product, run by amateurs. The worst 'hotel' we have...
Read moreWhen we arrived, we loved this place inside and out! It's beautiful, clean, spacious, comfortable, and bright. There's a pool with comfortable seating and an outdoor terrace that was begging to be enjoyed. ||||The lady who checked us in was lovely, and so kind and welcoming. However, when we were sitting at the pool reading and eating some snacks we brought ourselves, another staff member came outside and told us approximately 4 things we were doing wrong (and we were the only ones outside) -- no outside food, no wine, no glass bottles, no shoes on the ottoman...we immediately felt very unwelcome and her approach was quite rude and shaming. We didn't know any of these rules and were very surprised to learn we couldn't bring our own food to the hotel pool as that seems like a strange rule. We apologized and packed up (the fun was over), and did everything she asked. A few minutes later she then came out again and told us no wine of our own as we needed to purchase from their bar (we were playing a game outside and had never opened the wine or attempted to after her first admonishment). It felt very uncomfortable, and we would have appreciated a nicer approach to letting us know the rules, and providing us with alternative cups so we wouldn't need to use the room glasses in the pool area.||||The place you stay (the hotel in this case) should feel welcoming and a place you can relax, and we are travelers that like to pack our own food for picnics and enjoy a meal out every once in a while. I do not want to be forced to eat the hotel food if I'm sitting in an outdoor lounging area of the hotel. ||||Until this point, I would have loved to stay again, but because of this experience I will not be returning which is unfortunate because it could be a great place to stay! It's beautiful and very...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Blanc Sable hotel. What a fabulous gem of a hotel this is. As soon as you walk through the door you feel relaxed and chilled out. The owners are so welcoming and helpful. The hotel is so well thought out with the owner , Gilles, artistic eye over everything. From the cushions, plates, pool towels, water bottles there is such details and consideration which for me was a joy. The owners really have put alot of care and thought into making this hotel very special. The breakfast is actually one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Gilles sources the most incredible pastries and breads from local bakeries in Antibes and Valbonne along with cheeses, ham, jams and granola yoghurt pots. Even the drinks at the bar have been considered from kombucha iced tea drinks, rose wine and local liquor etc etc. The rooms are simply decorated but very effective. Everywhere in the hotel is air conditioned and the Wifi works well (very important with three teenage daughters!). Our car was safely parked in the garage under the hotel. The pool was a real treat and didn’t feel at all chlorinated, with comfy beds and plenty of hotel towels. Gilles and his wife were very helpful with knowledge about the area. We were genuinely...
