Having dismissed this site before arriving in Cannes due to the noise (we never pre-book) we drove around for 3 hours and after having a shock at the amount sites were charging, decided to go and take a look at Parc Bellevue. We stayed here for 9 nights - my opinions as below:||||Reception - at all times of visiting reception, we were greeted with friendly staff who were very helpful. ||||Campsite itself - ||there are plenty of pitches available, all massive. To be honest these were the biggest pitches we have ever had and we have stayed at many sites in France, Italy and Spain.||Washing facilities are good and plentiful although towards the end of the day, the utensil sinks were pretty dirty (not cleaned by other campers)||Showers plentiful, although the larger block near the campsite could be updated as some door locks were broken or the showers didn't work. ||The restaurant/take away served lovely meals. The chips are lovely and made a change from our usual salad tea!||Swimming Pool - for a few days of our stay the campsite was overrun with a summer school. whilst this didn't cause any problems, the swimming pool just couldn't cope with the amount of bodies in it. Once the summer school had left, peace had restored and sunbeds were plenty.||||All in all, we enjoyed our stay at Parc Bellevue. It was much cheaper than other sites and offered more. Our main problem was the noise unfortunately. The campsite is adjacent to the A8. This road never sleeps - and nor will you, unless you enter a coma!||If staying in a caravan or motorhome, or for an off night, i don't think this would be a problem, but a tent was a...
Read moreAn OLD style French Camping Ground The site is over the brow of a hill a STEEP one the site has an agreeable swimming pool a mediocre restaurant (greasy pizza) we were amazed on our first night when they put on a topless dance show when the site and audience were families with lots of children The amenities block (just one for the whole site) was a simple open plan set of cubicles of showers and toilets they had a disabled cubicle but very difficult to wheelchair access due to all the steps to get to the block the toilet/showers were unisex ie no mens or womens you just used one of them any one. There was on one side ofthe building an area to wash our pots and pans but no chemical toilet disposal point Freshwater was obtained from 5 taps on one side of the block again up steps making using an Aquaroll type container difficult from my wheel chair. You can expect kids playing all over the site, and you WILL see visitors to the showers of both sexes totally disrobed and uninhibited. This is the closest site to Cannes town very close to the airport but that doesn't operate after 8pm. and on one side of the site is the Autoroute built up very high on an embankment and busy ALL day and night
I have read some of the French reviews and having spoken to some French campers there they love it they have no problems with the nudity after all you see it on the beach everyday and I can understand their point of view but for modern rather prudish English this is not the site for you, we liked it as it was cheap central and near the...
Read moreWe stayed here so we could visit Cannes, the campsite itself was average. The showers and toilets were clean, the washing up area was old and the water was cold. We didn’t use the pool but it looked alright. The campsite pitches were quite spacious compared to others in France. ||However, the campsite staff are incredibly rude. On arrival we went to reception to check in and were told we needed to give a €20 cash deposit for a gate key which we didn’t have as this hadn’t been mentioned when we tried to book online (However they never actually even replied to our enquiry to confirm our stay!) We returned later on in the day after finding a cash point to pay this and a different lady with dyed black hair was on reception. We were met with a very unwelcoming stare and a general feeling that we were a nuisance even though we were trying our best to communicate in French. This unfortunately wasn’t our only encounter with this lady and the way she was towards us every time was the same, rude and belittling for no apparent reason. We have been travelling across the world for the last 3 months and she is by far the most obnoxious person we have come across. It’s a shame as it really let the campsite down and her disgusting attitude made us feel uncomfortable during our (not cheap!) stay. ||All in all this campsite is adequate if you want a spacious place to park up to visit Cannes but otherwise not a place I would recommend and if you do decide to go expect old facilities and to be made to...
