Myself , my husband and two teenage daughters stayed here for a week in July. We were taking part in Alp Dhuez Triathlon and changed our accommodation from Alp Dhuez to Bourg Doisans about 2 months before. I am so glad we did. Bourg doisans is such a gorgeous little town to base yourself in for cycling the area or basing yourself for the triathlon event. ||The Hotel itself is located in the heart of the town , there is a car park right behind it and I cannot say enough about the hotel itself. We loved it. It has such a homely feel to it which is due the owners being present and all of the staff who work in it. They cannot do enough and are so helpful with anything we asked of them. The hotel is decorated beautifully and with such individual style its hard to describe but it just works and makes it the most unique we have ever stayed in!! We stayed in a two bed apartment which was plenty spacious with stunning views of the alps all around and spotlessly clean.||I did not have breakfast at the hotel but my husband did and he said it was lovely , freshly squeezed orange juice was his favourite. The swimming pool was such an necessity for us with kids as it was quite warm while we were there. They had fresh towels by the pool daily which was a great addition too. The grounds had lovely seating areas that we used to eat take away lunch/ dinner outside. It was my daughters birthday while we were there and the restaurant would not let us use the cake I had bought but the owner of the hotel was more than happy to store it in the hotel fridge and let us celebrate back at the hotel after dinner. I cannot recommend this hotel enough , we have travelled a lot throughout the world and stayed in plenty of 5 star hotels along the way but this hotel was hands down our favourite. Great job Hotel...
Read moreWhere to start in writing a review. I have been visiting this hotel since 2017 once/ twice a year. Why? The welcome already starts at the booking process. The second time I feel a welcome is entering the hotel. Either the directrice or any other staff member, they are there for giving the guest a great stay. And I have had great stays. Entering the hotel you will find a French history of everything; pepper/ salt pieces, water cans, Champaign coolers, etc. Spread all over the hotel. It feels cosy, home-ish, That style is reflected all over the hotel. On the ground floor there a different areas to sit, read, watch TV both in- and outside.
I can be short on breakfast: all you can imagine to provide a healthy start of the day: a good hike or bicycle tour. The hotel is situated at the foot of Alpe d'Huez and the epic center of Croix de Fer, Galibier etc. There are locked rooms for cycling gear. Parking is free and EV charging is available.
Isn't there a slightest thing to mention as a negative ... Ehhh sorry no. Maybe that is a part of the reason I keep...
Read moreWhat an amazing hotel. Chrystelle was brilliant to deal with from the first enquiry until the day we left. This hotel is right in the middle of Le Bourg d’Oisen offering a outside seating to have a beer and take in the stunning views As we were a group of 46, we had rooms in the hotel as well as houses that the hotel owned in the local area (all within 100 metres of the hotel). All the rooms were great as well as the supporting amenities.
The food was first class and very well received by a group of hungry cyclists. The breakfast was equally as good and set us up for the day. There was plenty of secure storage for the bikes
Chrystelle and her team worked tirelessly from the point we arrived to the point we left. We kept the bar team very busy and the beer was good.
