La Falaise Restaurant pizzeria — Restaurant in Grenoble

This restaurant was tucked away around the corner from the main drag in Le bourg Doisans. We only found it because we were looking for some place different. The set menu here wasn't bad value, you add 6 euro to the cost of your main dish and you get an entree and a dessert. The entree was a salad which is great because we wanted some greens. However it had a fair bit of onion in it. I suppose that's the local style. Mains were a choice. I had a hamburger with brown limp fries. Others had pizzas. Burger was okay, but I think was a bit underdone. Taste was okay, at least I got a sizeable portion of avocado. Dessert was a choice and I got a cream brulee. It was the only French dish in this meal!! Service was a little weird, the waitress would be taking the order and then suddenly disappear. We specifically visited this place based on TA reviews. We ordered a small salad (6euros), two pizzas and a burger, with a side of fries. My 'chicken' salad came with a cubed size piece of chicken, half a cherry tomato, grated carrot and a lot of leaf. I queried the lack of chicken and was told that's what you get when ordering a small salad. I expect a scaled down version of the big option with more than one small piece of chicken and half a cherry tomato. Our food was brought to the table, without the sides. Very good food, and the sweetest waitress ever! It was definitely a bit too busy for her on her own, but she was working so hard and kept being sweet and friendly throughout the night. Even worried that we didn't like it, which wasn't true. She managed everything and we didn't have to wait for anything.

The food was delicious, so tasteful, I could eat here every day. The atmosphere was good and as said, the service was great. Would definitely recommend going here and I would come back when I'm here again!
