We stayed here with two other families. It is a complex of modular build homes, which at the time of our stay were in perfect condition, and beautifully clean. Crisp white linen and towels were supplied and changed twice in our two week stay. Our apartment was also cleaned during our stay once per week. ( as far as I know you can pay for this to be more frequent). |The kitchen had a good supply of crockery and cutlery and a large fridge with a small freezer compartment. There was a combi microwave grill and a hob- but no oven - so no way to cook pizza etc. |We didn’t have any problems with ants - but other members of our party did. |Our accommodation was two storey- the air conditioning was only downstairs and during a heatwave the upstairs rooms got VERY hot. The single storey accommodation- might be a better bet- or check if more air conditioning has been installed. |There are two pools - one which is normal depth but with a shallow end and one which is standing depth for the whole pool. We had teenagers who wanted to play in the deep pool- but there were notices up at the deep pool saying no ball and no inflatable- for what is obviously a family destination we felt that this was unfortunate- after a few days it was apparent that most families were not adhering to that- so lots of family fun was had in the pool. |We had a lovely meal in the bistro, onsite but went into Châtelaillon du Plage most nights (a 20- 30 min walk ). There is a poolside bar with snacks- but these are not geared towards children- (think charcuterie for 17euro) so we ended up not using it as we had thought we would. |The accommodation was wonderful for families and the location was great—( two minutes walk to the sea- 20 mins to a swimming beach- lovely walk along the beach to Châtellion du Plage- Given the nature of the accommodation - availability of poolside snacks suitable for children would be a great improvement. |Overall I would have no problem recommending this lovely clean accommodation to anyone. If we were in the area again I...
Read moreI would highly NOT recommend Cote Ocean for many, many reasons. This was the worst bed and breakfast type place. We had a terrible experience.
The worst part: They over charged us! We told them 2 breakfasts per person (there were 3 of us) and they wrote it down but then at checkout said we did not paid for 2 breakfasts, only one. They argued back and forth with my mom saying we did not pay. We had a train to catch so my mother just went ahead and paid for 3 breakfasts. When we got home we attempted to contact them over the charges, my cousin asked for a detailed (itemized) receipt. It took 3 attempts and they finally wrote back and admitted to overcharging us! Very, very SHADY.
They other concerns were: We paid for a unit with a washer and dryer. My cousin spoke with them several times making sure it had a washer and dryer and they gave us a unit without one. They changed us to a unit with a washer but there was NO dryer. The unit was full of bugs and spiders. Not just one but we had many. One was giant and hairy and this was after they supposedly removed the spiders The bedding smelled bad and appeared dirty the mattress was ROCK HARD and was really uncomfortable It felt uninviting and cold. The floors were concrete, the bathrooms/ showers were poorly planned out. It was the weirdest design I've ever seen. There was one bathroom which was in a storage closet and didn't even have a sink! let alone a shower. then there were two showers which were nice but they did not have a toilet. Wifi was spotty Breakfast was decent but not worth 13 euros
The only positive was the showers were nice. The staff seemed friendly until they wanted to scam us at check out.
Whatever you do do NOT go...
Read moreWe had a very nice stay at Coté Ocean. Check-in took only a couple of minutes and 5 minutes later we were in our apartment. And it was a really nice. As we had a 6 ppl apartment every kid had its own room, one of which had a en-suite bathroom which our 13 year thoroughly enjoyed. There was plenty of space plus a terrace to hang out. The kitchen has everything you can ask for apart from an oven which however we did not really miss.
The facility itself features two pools - one more for kids and the other one more for hanging out and swimming. There’s also a little pool bar, a barbecue space for larger groups and a restaurant which has great food. We only went once - no particular reason - but everything was great and also looked yummy on other plates.
The place does not come with lots of entertainment as you might know it from French camping sites but there was a band playing one evening and you can play Pool Billard and table tennis. All in all rather quiet which was perfect for us. In summary definitively recommendable! The only small minus might be the overall location if you are a beach lover. While it’s true that the beach is only 400m away it’s not exactly good for swimming. The proper beach towards the south is about 1.5 km away and you might need to take the car or rent bikes to get there. If you prefer the pool anyway...
