We stayed here April 2023 for one night in the superior double room with terrace and had a very nice stay. ||Here are our observations/experiences that also factor items such as: what we knew prior to booking (type and cost of lodging), historical variables, total value for the money and comparisons with similar experiences – we greatly appreciate travelers who have provided reviews for our vacation planning and hope this info helps you too 😊:||THE GOOD STUFF:|• Hotel owner (Luciano) accommodating, friendly and helpful. He used a translation device to help communicate with us, greatly appreciated.|• On-site parking behind a locked gate (we were given a code)|• Luggage cart on wheels to help get luggage from car to house door|• When we arrived, Luciano greeted us at the gate where Google directions took us. He gave us a map showing how to access the other, large gate and private parking. |• WiFi worked very, very well|• Grounds are lovely, plants and trees to be appreciated|• Comfortable room, bed, pillows|• Windows opened|• Good breakfast, including a delightful surprise prepared by Luciano: scrambled eggs with herbs and bacon strips. Also available on buffet table: breads, croissants, baguettes, whole fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, tea|• At our request, breakfast was ready early to accommodate our timed entry to Giverny house/gardens.|AWARENESS STUFF: |• No elevator – we knew this before we booked this historical location. We loved everything about it.|Host - Luciano is a wonderful host, he's had an interesting life, has a lovely laid back style and a great sense of humour.|Surroundings - the village is beautiful and peaceful, we had a pleasant evening stroll and the birdsong was gorgeous. Really calming for tired travellers.|House - the house sits in a lovely plot of land with its own little lake, a summer house and places to sit around the garden.|The rooms are tastefully furnished. Bed linen is laundered, French line, the bed is extremely comfortable. The bathroom has a good, hot shower, a clean and up to date toilet.|Breakfast - fresh fruit, juice, walnuts, cheese, bread, cereal, omelette and bacon cooked fresh by Luciano. The quality of the food is top notch.|Proximity to Monet's house - it's on the same street, a ten to fifteen minute stroll with lovely buildings and verges all the way along.|This was my favourite place out of the four we stayed in whilst in Paris and Normandy.|Thank you, Luciano.
