The hotel is in a beautiful location - a 15 min taxi from central Lyon. One can rent a bike and save the 15 euro fare. The rooms are sparkling clean and large by European standards. What you lose in location, you gain in terms of space - and peace and quiet. The pricing offsets to costs of transportation to Lyon. Breakfast is served in your room, you have a choice of eggs, oatmeal, yogurt etc. coffee machine in your room. The family lives in site, so security is not an issue. Read moreWe where on our way through France, we decided to stay in Lyon, scrolling through the internet we found this gem at i’ll barbe.
The owner Bénédicte welcomed us at this magical spot. The scenery brings you back centuries, which is a great vibe. A peace of paradise in the middle of Lyon.
We had the family room, which was absolutely lovely, beautiful contemporary interior design which has everything you need and more, the contemporary design combined with characteristic elements is just pure joy,
Also Bénédicte made us feel very welcome and gave us some great tips about the area. She is a great host, who makes you feel welcome and helps whenever you have any question. We appreciated that so much.
All in all, we had a great time and we surely Will come back for a longer stay!

There are some nice restaurants and an amazing bakery close by (ca 5mins on foot). When you enter the Garden Suite there is a little kitchen with a small table, then you pass through the corridor with a shower being on the left and a separate toilet on the right, before you enter the spacious bedroom. The lighting is somber which fits the style and atmosphere of the room. If you want more light you can always go to the garden - you have direct access to and it is very inviting for breakfast. We felt at home and even our dog was welcomed with a big bed...
