We slept there for two nights and didn't get to try the restaurant (which looks really nice according to the reviews). The experience was okay: River view: 😐 our room (4) was facing the parking, not really the advertised view on the website; I understand all rooms cannot be on the same side, but when booking online one has some expectations when seeing the advertisement Room: 😐 the room (4) itself was clean and a bit rustic (that's okay) but had a few things that could be improved. There were multiple small things that made the experience less pleasant: the toilet flush didn't work well and needed multiple flushes multiple times; there are few electrical plugs, those by the bed are used for the lamps, among the two others, one was under the table and didn't work. The doors This is an old building, so this is pretty badly insulated in terms of noise: the main doors are quite noisy. The doors inside the bedroom can't be closed (they don't work properly anymore) which is a problem for the bathroom/toilets. 🪳: we found a running baby cockroach in the bed. This can happen, we didn't see any others in the room but I had to mention it. Breakfast: 😒 it was disappointing. I would have expected a buffet for a 3 star hotel, but that was just a pre-filled basket identical for everybody. Not up to the quality of the restaurant one could expect. Also, it was served in the hall close to the hotel's entry door, whereas they could serve it outside next...
Read moreThe only reason I have given this such a good rating is based purely on the restaurant, it is truly excellent, although very expensive.||Be warned; annoyingly I didn't notice that check-in was from 5pm although it was stated on the information. I will read more carefully in future!. We arrived at 3.30pm and not a soul around. Had to kill an hour and a half. All rooms are on the first floor and there is no lift. Access is via a very badly lit, twisty old staircase, so quite a challenge helping my 83y/o Father up and down the stairs. The rooms were a generous size but quite cold. Bathroom's basic and functional, if a little tired. A kettle was provided, which is unusual in France but I had to fill it from the bath because of the stupid shallow sink and then plug it in on the floor because there were no suitable sockets. Had to unplug a lamp to use my laptop at the desk too. So few hotels seem to think about the number and/or placement of sockets for the modern traveller. ||Bed was comfy and there were welcome spare blankets provided. Where the hotel redeemed itself was dinner. Lovely dining room, excellent service and fabulous food, although it was very expensive. Despite the faults, I actually would stay again, just because we had such a lovely meal and the rooms were acceptable. Although I couldn't take my Father again, those stairs are a nightmare (and did I...
Read moreI liked this hotel, it's a small logis with only five rooms and really does have that personal touch. Our room was spacious, clean and the beds were comfortable. It's not a modern hotel, probably more suited to a relaxing break than those on business. The riverside situation adds to the relaxed feel of the place. ||The restaurant is worth trying, we found the food to be of a high standard and priced correctly.||There is a bus or nearby tram if you want to go into Orleans - turn right out of the hotel, and walk to the roundabout (bus) or shopping centre (tram). ||My only criticism is that the breakfast could have come with better bread and was a bit sparse if you don't like pastries.||Be warned that the hotel does not open until 1700 hours in...
