We did not like it at all!
Booked through eurocamp for 8 nights and an obscene amount of money.
Cold welcome on arrival...more concerned about collecting the tourist tax and the deposit than anything else.
Once at accomodation, mobile home was dirty, bathroom smelly...Went to reception to report the various issues. The cleaning team came and somehow fixed things while we were trying to settle down after a long journey to get there. The standard apology is a bottle of wine and juice. Thanks for that!
The first night was ok. This was the calm before the storm. On the 2nd night, new neighbours (from hell) started "partying" as soon as they arrived in the afternoon. It went on all evening. Initially, we remained optimistic and thought it would die down, but the noise (fuelled by alcohol and possibly more) lasted until 2am+. We had to eventually phone security. Security came and the noise stopped. I talked to reception in the morning, pointing out I could definitely see the potential for the problem to reoccur. The lady I spoke to did not really seem to care, we "can't plan on these things...security will patrol" (and other silly/useless comments). There was absolutely no will to solve the problem once and for all. What about enforcing your own rules? It clearly says "complete silence between midnight and 7am"
So....Guess what? The noise in the evening went on for another 3 nights in a row with those same noisy neighbours. Every night, we believed it would improve, die down, but it would not... Same game! We had to phone security to get them to be quiet. They didn't seem to know the basic rules of courtesy and discretion. They were definitely aware of their behaviour (heard them making comments, etc....). One thing to bear in mind is that a growing number of people in France nowadays will shout at you, insult you, etc... when you just try to talk to them to settle a disagreement...not worth it!
All we were asking for was a quiet period at night. Not much to ask for. Totally fed up by the situation, we went to reception again after the 4th night. The gentleman said he would pass on the issue to security for a "civism" and courtesy chat with the neighbours. The level of noise and nonsense from the neighbours remained unbearable for the whole stay, but at least, night 6 and 7 was relatively quiet (although only from about midnight, not earlier).
This could have been sorted out after the first night if reception/security had been stricter with the neighbours right from the beginning. However, they just failed.
Otherwise.... The main swimming pool is unpleasantly cold! Not sure why it is not heated.. The 2nd pool is warmer but looks dirty, not inviting at all with plastic irregular bottom. Swimming pool area was very busy and not big enough, with not enough beds for everybody. Only quieter time is during lunch (1 to 2.30pm). Only went once, never went back!
We read reviews before coming and believed most were exagerated. We came with an open mind, we are easy going people... However, we were very disappointed overall by the campsite. All negative reviews here on Google seem to have some level of truth in them.
We were left with a bitter taste in our mouth.... The holiday was simply spoiled!
We will...

My partner went to reception to get some help as I was in a bad way and needed help but as it was late at night reception was closed and there was only a security guard there that wasn't much help at all. My partner returned to reception the next day to explain the situation and all they said is to go and speak to the restaurant - what good is speaking to a waiter going to do?! They did not take the matter seriously or urgently so I then found an email address I could express my concerns and ask someone to investigate immediately as I did not want other guests to go through what I did. To say I was disappointed by the complaints team is an understatement. I basically felt like they thought I was lying and making it all up. I was told the first step requested from the campsite is to see a doctor's note to confirm it was food poisoning - how on earth is anyone with food poisoning supposed to get up and see a doctor!?? My partner did speak to an English Doctor on the phone because he was really worried for me and needed advice but regardless of that it does not take a doctor to diagnose food poisoning and if I hadn't mentioned speaking to a doctor then what - they just assume I'm lying and nothing will be done without one? My main concern was to get the restaurant shut down/inspected/cleaned whatever needed to be done to sort out the problem as if it was my young children that had food poisoning it could have been a lot worse and we could have ended up in hospital! But no, business carried on as usual in the restaurant and absolutely nothing was done. It's such a shame because apart from the horrendous customer service and of course the food poisoning it really is such a lovely campsite, a bit dated but clean, good entertainment and the pool is amazing for children - not forgetting the short walk to the beautiful beach. I just feel so let down by this company but just wanted to warn others so hopefully no one else goes...
Read moreWe didn’t have the best experience at Les Dunes. We were expecting a much higher standard for the price paid. ||Positives:||The food from the snack bar / restaurant / ice cream is lovely. ||Access to the beach is superb. ||Some of the staff are very friendly and helpful. We asked for help finding a restaurant locally. Thank you. ||Negatives:||Our chalet was filthy. We had to sweep the decking, clean the kitchen table, kitchen chairs, worktops, bathroom and outside table on arrival. The kettle needed de-scaling, as did the shower door and shower head. ||We had a mice infestation in the kitchen, which nibbled through various food items - we waiting 2 days for anyone to address this. No offer of compensation for lost food or our time spent blocking up areas where the mice were getting in. ||The single beds are very uncomfortable (mattresses are very thin and unsuitable for adults). The pillows are extremely thin and give no support. This affected our sleep. ||There is no restriction on times at the basketball courts which our chalet backed immediately onto. People use them until gone midnight, and start again around 7.30am ..making it really difficult to sleep. ||The music from the bar / club is very loud. It blasts across the whole site ..at the weekends this goes on until past 2am. ||You cannot buy food throughout the afternoon, the snack bar shuts at 2.30pm and they will not cook anything except fries after 2.15pm. The beach bars don’t serve food until 7pm. We’ve never been anywhere else in the world where cooked food isn’t available during the day!||The pool area is insanely busy in the afternoons ..it’s like a zoo ..no room to swim at all. There just isn’t enough space for the number of people. ||Many of the “activities” such as crazy golf are also shut during the day. Why?!||Sadly, we...
