Gite Le Lutin — Hotel in Saint-Gaudens

Gite le Lutin owned by a Welshman, married to a French lady, is a 10 minutes walk from the centre of town. It is a spotlessly maintained old building, with a warm welcome at check-in. The couple served their time in the Alps ski chalets and it showed that evening with an excellent dinner of warm goats cheese salad, roast fillet of pork with penne and a simple strawberry dessert, to die for. ||The excellent breakfast was more like a lunch buffet and it was the first time I’d seen a metre length of bread in my travels. Just returned from a very pleasant, week-long stay with a group from the Gentian Mountaineering & Hill Walking Club. It's a great area for walking with plenty at all grades.||The gite is really well set up and the owner, Russell, was helpful in providing advice and sorting any problems.||We chose the self-catering option and the very efficient dishwasher was a real bonus at the end of meals. Russel nous a chaleureusement accueilli pour notre semaine de vacances en cette année si particulière. (C’est un passionné de montagne, de cuisine, …)||Nous avons passé un séjour reconstituant entre randonnées, bons petits plats et bonnes nuits de sommeil. Le gite est sobre, bien décoré, confortable (un peu bruyant à cause des planchers), simple et à un prix très abordable (pour nous). Il est situé a quelques pas du centre qu’on peut rejoindre à pied.||Les repas que nous a concoctés Russel sont tout simplement magiques ! à base de produits frais locaux de saison, superbement cuisinés, originaux, savoureux, copieux, toujours renouvelés… bref … impossible d’aller au restaurant ailleurs !||Une adresse à découvrir, à retenir, à revenir…||Les lotois (Monique, Jean-Claude, Geneviève...
