Le Bistrot Des Allees — Restaurant in Saint-Gaudens

Last Sunday we had lunch at Le Bistrot des Allees. The tall, very polite waitress welcomed us and started getting a table ready for us so that we could sit down as soon as possible rather than stand in the middle of the outside sitting area with two big dogs. She kindly prepared a table in the corner so that we could put the dogs out of the way. As she was preparing the table for us, a small rather abrupt man came out onto the terrace and started ordering her around, disrupting her preparations, telling her to do something else instead of attending to us. There were other people on the terrace eating and the atmosphere turned tense after this little man's loud interjections. We did not like the way he spoke to the waitress, the way he was treating her. She was working hard to keep all the customers happy, attending to everyone almost at the same time. Not once did she stop with nothing to do. We would have left the place if it was not for her, we felt we could not leave after all her efforts. She was one of the best waitresses we have come across. It helped greatly that she also spoke perfect English. However, due to this man's intrusion, we will not be going back to Le Bistrot des Allees and will not be recommending it to anyone else. Had this man not been there I would have given the place...

Très bon repas dans ce restaurant. Juste un souci avec la serveuse très maladroite et mal à l’aise face au handicap visuel.

heureusement la suite est nickel. Et le (responsable je crois) serveur adorable !

À notre arrivée, la serveuse nous dit « Bonjour » et nous dit « là bas », sauf qu’on est aveugles toutes les 2. L’une avec une Chienne guide et l’autre avec la canne blanche. Ça se voit quand même ! Je lui dis « Madame c’est où là-bas car on ne voit pas, ça c’est mon Chien guide (elle a un harnais avec écrit Chien Guide d’aveugle) et en désignant mon amie : c’est sa canne blanche ». Et elle continue « par ici et s’éloigne sans nous attendre... ?! Je hausse la voix et lui dis « Madame attendez-nous SVP et dites nous droite gauche une direction car ici on ne sait pas où c’est ! ». Elle revient, ralenti un peu le pas (j’essaye de faire suivre le chien en sa direction et elle nous plante au milieu de plusieurs tables en disant « là » et s’en va d’un coup !!! « Madame eh oh ? où là svp ? Quelle table svp ? ». Bref on a failli partir... d’où le 4/5 mais côté resto ça vaut 5 etoiles.

Ce qui est surprenant c’est qu’on l’a entendue parler aux tables d’à côté et elle était juste adorable et super sympa. Elle a eu un gros problème avec le handicap !

Du coup, On ne l’a pas revue du repas car c’est le responsable (on pense) qui a pris la suite et il est vraiment adorable lui aussi et aucun souci. Dommage qu’elle ne soit pas revenue vers nous avec cette gentillesse qu’on a entendue quand elle s’adressait aux autres clients.

Côté carte y’a pour tous les goûts : du raffiné au plus basic. Pizza, burger, viandes, poissons, tartiflette.

Nous avons opté pour le poisson. Mon amie a prise l’assiette Océane avec saumon frais cuit au Perto, saumon fumé et calamar. Servi avec salade verte, morceaux de tomates et corbeille de frites maison. 21€ moi j’ai pris une truite entière avec carottes Vichy et Yavait une grosse tomate cuite avec des herbes dessus. J’ai demandé à avoir un peu de frites et ils nous les a offertes pas de supplément, j’ai trouvé sympa. 17€ environ je sais plus exactement... (regardez la carte je l’ai prise en photo)

C’était excellent, vraiment on s’est régalé. Le saumon pesto apparemment un peu gras mais sinon parfait.

Dessert : café gourmand : café, chantilly, mini moelleux chocolat, petite crème caramel beurre salé (sorte de crème brûlée), gaufre myrtille (car ils n’avaient plus de tartes myrtilles) et mini pana cotta fruits rouges. très bon mais un peu déçue par la quantité, tout petit petit : 7,90€. crêpe nutella : très bonne et bien garnie : 3,50€.

Une adresse à recommander car sur Luchon c’est pas facile de trouver des choses autres que crêpes, fondues et pizzas... et à des prix abordables !

On y reviendra (en espérant que l’adorable serveuse sera plus...

Family run restaurant where caring for their diners with a smile, joke or explanation of dishes in french or english is their pleasure. Delicious food with an excellent 3 course dinner for under 17€ or a wide choice à la carte. Outside dining on the terrace very enjoyable watching 'tous Luchon'. Our favourite Luchon restaurant by far for lunch or dinner. Every one of our friends or family we take there has enjoyed themselves...
