I stayed in this hotel for work for 10 days.
I'll start with the positive points. The room was clean, comfy, well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. It was well placed, with good parking amenities. The bath and shower had good water pressure and the bathroom (apart from the bath..) was good.
However, these positives were more than let down by several pretty annoying issues.
The WiFi worked..as long as you wanted a very slow connection, and only after 11pm at night. When I raised the issue with the staff they simply shrugged and said "when there's a lot of people using it it doesn't work well" as if that excuses the fact that the WiFi barely worked, even though that was one of the reasons this hotel was booked for me.
The bath, as mentioned, would be perfect - for a small child. I am 6'2, not incredibly tall by any standards, and of average 'width' but the stupidly short and narrow bath barely fit me in. With water displacement taken into account, a mug full of water would nearly have been enough to fill it with me in it. The shower, however, was great.
As another guest has mentioned, there was a fairly loud fan running most of the night but I did get used to this after a couple of days.
The TV would void its memory every time you left the room and have to be re-scanned before you could see what was on.
Finally though, these niggles would have been made up for (even the serious WiFi problem) by a friendly and welcoming staff who were at your disposal and at least looked like they wanted you there. I cannot say that this was the case.
The reception staff were at best coldly polite and at worst bordering on rude. There was never once a "hello!", a "see you in a while!" or even a smile when I entered or left the hotel, and any issue raised was met with a sigh, even though efforts were made to deal with issues. Even a request for a couple more sachets of sugar was treated with suspicion and annoyance.
The cleaning staff were very friendly and professional, though.
At the end of the day, this hotel would be fine if you were travelling as a couple and didn't need a good WiFi connection, or welcoming staff to ask you how your day was / how your visit to the doctor was. As a lone business traveller though these things are what change a hotel from adequate to great. Sadly the Kyriad Prestige at Saint Nazaire was not great, thus my 2 star review.
I don't normally write bad reviews but for the cost of a little warmth and friendliness,...
Read morePositive: The hotel is easily to find. the rooms are nice and comfortable and modern. there is a fridge and microwave in the room. the area is grown and offers several restaurants, mc donalds and a supermarket around the corner. The breakfast is ok, even bacon and scrambeled eggs are available.
Negative: the pictures assumes the building stands free but is now sourrounded by new buildings which still be build. so if your are on the wrong side you will have a nice view to the workers and they can see you as well. the pool was closed in April but you are not comfortable by the looks of it because its direct next to an office building and you have to go through the reception to reach the pool. In the room I said, its good, there is a fridge but with the clima also very noisy. I woke up three time when the cooler started again. I booked the hotel because of the fitness room. unluckily this was closed due the hot tub wasnt working. so they throw all fitness stuff in the conference room in the corners without any effort to give an idea that you can use it, on the door was mentioned: "fitness".
Fazit: Anyway: for a business trip or a overnight stay more then ok but not recommended for a private...
Read moreI stayed here for work and selected it based on free wifi, free parking, and the location being close to where I was working. The staff was very helpful. There is a counter-height fridge, microwave, and water kettle in all of the rooms and also a cooking surface if you pay extra - it is inside a box along the side of the room and is locked unless you pay per day (box is not in the way and the top is a good storage surface). There is a grocery store a couple of blocks away. They have a washer and dryer available for 10 Euro total (6/4). The dryer didn't dry that well, but well enough that everything spread out or hung up dried by morning. Breakfast isn't bad - with the fridge and microwave in the room, I am not sure if I would have used it every day if someone else wasn't paying my bill. There were lots of shipyard contractors from one company staying at the hotel and they all seemed to go down for breakfast at the same time and the staff had a hard time getting tables ready for other customers. I figured out the time to arrive just before them and...
