Shushabandi Kazbegi — Hotel in Stepantsminda

The view from room (#3) is amazing! And that's about it.

The room has no balcony, only a large window. It is very basic and minimalist (no minibar/mini fridge to store food/drinks). Overall cleanliness is good. The downside is the bathroom. There is no divider or a raised level between the shower area and the dry area of the bathroom. After each shower, the floor is wet next to the toilet bowl and the floor mat is entirely wet.

The wifi is weak and spotty.

The owner, Ana, offered us a room with balcony on our 2nd night but did not mentioned any rate adjustment. So we gladly accepted her offer of room change on day 2. However on the day of room change, she then only told us we have to pay extra. We didn't change the room eventually and felt that she should have mentioned the extra payment when she gave us the offer to change room. She apologized for her mistake and misinformation.

Overall for the rate we have paid (GEL144 for 2 nights), we felt there are others which is so much cheaper and also has room with balcony.

Pro - view from the room Cons - bathroom, no mini fridge/minibar, room rate. And if you are a light sleeper, this place will not be an ideal choice for you as you have to keep the windows open for nice cool breeze and air circulation. This is the first thing I saw everyday right after I open my eyes, the view is out of this world and way better than the photos The room was so clean and organized, the owners are the friendliest people ever. We kept asking them for dishes, cups, forks and even a kettle and they gave us everything we asked for and were trying their best with us.
