Hotel Krone — Hotel in Alsfeld

We have been to Alsfeld before. It is a wonderful town with a quaint town centre and wonderful cobbled streets and tudor style buildings - a real gem.||||We particularly booked the hotel because of its close proximity to the town centre.||||When we got there the car park was full. We presented our booking form to reception and were told there was no booking I could see the booking register and pointed to my name.||||Another person then came along to say that they had made a mistake but another hotel had been booked for us . We said that we didnt want to move and explained why we had booked the hotel for a specific reason. ||||They simply would not listen and insisted there was nothing they could do. We could see from the main function room that there was an event that night and we had simply been bumped. We asked for compensation and they again simply refused.||||The hotel we were allocated was OK but more than a mile from the town centre where we wanted to be.||||Do not book this hotel they cannot guarantee you a room even if you booked...

First of all the staff of Hotel Krone (some German, some Russian) were all super-friendly. So kudos there. Also, the photographer did a terrible job and the hotel is nicer looking than the photos.... but not by much. We wanted a place to sleep while we attended an event, and the room was nice enough to lounge around in during the day. Plenty of hot water, comfortable bed. The biggest problem was the parking as we came back late at night and the parking lot which is small tended to be full. The view from our room was great (top floor) but the windows needed to be closed at night due to some traffic noise in the morning. On checkout we saw the room next to us as it was being cleaned - a super nice king bed in a smaller room with no view. One last piece of advice: Book at least a full week before as prices go up...

It only allows me to give one star if I could I would give none very old rooms nothing updated smell of order from the room and duvets Was over 40 years old no heating in bathroom could not take a shower it was too cold TV did not work staff did not speak English or German too overpriced Then about 230 in the morning a load of drug Addict started killing each other in the hall that went on for at least an hour Nothing in this hotel has been updated with at least 50 years one of the worst experience I’ve ever had please...
