Hotel Bedburger Mühle — Hotel in Bedburg

If you enjoy the spattan lifestyle then you'll definitely like this place.|This wasn't my choice, being selected for me whikst attending a conference. It's in the middle of nowhere in a small town; usually I wouldn't mind but the hotel was 4 star expense for 2 star luxury.|The rooms appear minimal with hard floors and hard beds, minimal bedding and poor fittings. Worst still this place can be like an ice box and the radiators couldn't reach more than a mildly wsrm feel at max., so much so that I had to complain, but not before I had suffered a sleepless, freezing cold night with no staff on site to assist in my plight.|The next night I was supplied with additional bedding and a mobile radiator but the damage was done.|Breakfast is definitely for the german customer only and foreigners are definitely not catered for.|Two nights was more than enough for me; I couldn't get out fast enough. Even that was a tedious affair as all invoices are hand written; point proven.|I can't recommend this place unless you are happy to spend an exorbitant rate for very little return. This small hotel is well located for many business travellers working betwen Köln, west end of Düsseldorf / Neuss and Mönchengladbach or even in the outlying small towns up to the Dutch border. The room I occupied was one of the 20 or so single rooms. It was clean, functional, no frills,but a bt dated... The fittings, and furniture are in need of urgent renovation or replacement. Breakfast buffet was a bit better than the standard fare. Plenty of coffee, fresh bread and rolls, cereals, cheeses and cuts of meat. There is also a restaurant which does reasonable cuisine though I found it a bit expensive to eat off chipped crockery, drink poor quality wine, and endure poor, patronising service. The hotel management attitude and conduct, is just a total disaster verging on placing the hotel into disrepute....useless to say the least! Fixed and seasonal menus can be recommended though, several a la carte dishes on the menu...its better to give them a miss...your stomach will be...
