Sleepy Cologne is located on the second floor of Unicenter. The door access to the hotel is locked which the hotel key cannot help open the door. You would need to go to the front desk of Unicenter every time so as to get the door unlocked. It is super inconvience. It is quite often that the front desk is working with their residents which you need to wait quite a while in order to get the door open.||I checked in on Sunday which the wifi was fine. It is stated in the instruction that there is a second choice of wifi but it never pops up. However, it starts not working from Tue to Fri! I have my other friends in another room which the wifi is not working as well. I saw the person next to my room need to go out to the small common area (which is not supposed for you to hang out there) so as to get internet access. ||The main issue is there is no support from the hotel. There is no one here when you need help. You need to call for help. And there is no phone you can use in the phone, At the end, I need to get to the front desk of the Unicenter, which is unrelated to the hotel, in order to ask for a phone to call.||The staff is very unhelpful and dishonest. My roommate and I did not call for help on Tue night as we tired to be nice. We thought the housekeeping will figure out the problem and then fix the wifi. Obviously they did not. Then I call them from the front desk of Unicenter. The man over the phone denied the wifi isn't working in the day. They try to claim it is my equipment's problem which I have stated clearly that the wifi had worked. They refuse to come to fix the problem as it is the night time. As there is no staff around, every problem will leave to another day.||I finally see someone the 2 days later. The wifi is still not working. The man refused to help anything. He started to blame my nationality which I am not living in where I am from. I have told them already that it is not only me not having wifi so do all my other friends in the other rooms as well. They are from all over the world. The man just do not do anything and put the blame to...
Read moreCosting €166.95 for a one-night, one-guest stay(!), the hotel did offer some adventure. To start with, finding the place was a quest. Located on the 2nd floor of an appartement bloc, the hotel doesn't feature any signs indicating its existence. At the entrance you are welcomed by the building's concierge, who - with the charm of a high-security prison guard - buzz opens a door leading to the lifts. No other person is in sight; the electronic check-in goes smoothly. The room is essentially an L-shaped corridor terminating in a bed. Uninterrupted windows along two walls open onto a busy thoroughfare. A 70s-style concrete high-rises to the right and a busy two-level parking lot to the left complement the view. If you think to settle in for a good night's sleep, you are in for a surprise as the busy traffic (3 lanes in each direction + a tram in the middle) produces a remarkable amount of unrelenting noise. The room is clean (which explains two stars), but the service in non-existent. Is there a breakfast? (For this price, it better be!) You wouldn't know as there is no-one there to ask. A guest brochure in the room is in German (is Frűhstűck the magic word?), but I guess the foreigners are not expected to bother having breakfast. Incongruously, there is a detailed instruction in English on how to operate the telly, which doesn't have a single non-German speaking channel (out of boredom I checked them all). This is an achievement in itself for a satellite TV network. In summary, you must be seriously desperate to stay at this place....
Read moreNot the best place to stay! There are definitely better options in Cologne. The surrounding area in not the best neighborhood and the building it self is old and dirty. The rooms itself were ok, even though my room was the same floor as the parking deck. Every time some smoked outside the smoke would blow inside my room, and they could also see directly inside my room, was makes privacy impossible. The kitchen was insufficiently equipped. No stove, only a camping gas stove, was seens to me pretty hazardous in regards on fire safety. There's no reception, only a check in machine, what I personally hated. I wouldn't stay here again, and I wouldn't...
